Fac hasn't been paying attention to Harkless's current form.

boston get Lakers pick next year if it falls 2-5.  Magic is not happy.

It is looking like that will happen.  they are in free fall and looking really bad.

what does Boston need?  another big IMO.

most mocks have Ayton going #1 so that leaves Bagley .   Bagley is a stud and you can play him and Horford together.

what they don't need is another 3.  in fact, they have too many once Haywood returns.

Tatum, Haywood and Brown

Nice problem to have.

if James goes West then the East is all Boston for the next few years.

GS-Boston with GS winning?  would not surprise me.

too bad IT won't be playing vs boston on wednesday.

I have. It’s correctable and creates a buy low moment. Also we take the money hit this year 16 mil - 13 mil, but Davis expires this year. We can go after him, but otherwise will save about 3 mil going forward.

Settled contracts into 18-19 would be

Noah KP Thomas Harkless Dotson THJ Baker Frank. Some of the rest have options they might pick up, some might be back depending on how they fare in the market. I can see wanting to hold Willy back from this deal. But then what is the incentive for Portland and who would we substitute?

Only Chip would look at that trade for Paul George and think we're giving away too much. Funny. (Also, Kanter wouldn't leave, there's plenty of 5s available in free agency, KP at the 5 and PG at the 4 would happen often).

That said, everything Chip said about the Kemba deal makes sense. Way too good to be true. I'd even do it if it included a lotto-protected first rounder. Frank can play next to Kemba in plenty of lineups. But money doesn't work.

If we are doing fake trades, a few suggestions, each of which will anger poor Chip more than the last:

Courtly/McBuckets for Jabari/Teletovic (Bucks need shooting and have a frightening tax bill. Jabari is a risk which is why he would be available without giving up a pick)

KOQ/Willy for Randle (they can't keep him if they want cap space this summer but this way they get two very movable assets. Randle is intriguing next to KP).

Lance/McDougie/Baker for Solomon Hill and their top-10 protected pick (If Hill can be a bench guy next year, this is gravy. You only do this if you don't want to pay McBuckets this summer)

Courtly for Philly's top-10 protected first rounder this year.  Nice trade exception as well since Philly is under the cap.

Baker/McBuckets/Willy/Dotson for Brevin Knight's corpse and the top-7 protected Miami first rounder Phoenix has.

Lance/KOQ for MKG (I always have to have one trade offer for MKG ready)

Lance/KOQ/Courtly/Willy for Cody/MKG (sometimes I have two MKG trades ready! Charlotte needs a shakeup)

Lets run it again

Knicks get Kemba

Charlotte gets Wily., who many teams covet.

Knicks fill in the rest $wise, including Baker....toss in a second rounder.

43 win team? 50 next year?

Perhaps BUT  Boston has the best record in the East at this moment.

Boston is better positioned for the future than Toronto.

Boston gets Haywood back and watch out if they get lakers pick for next year .  if lakers fall 2-5 it goes to Boston .  they sit at 2 right now.

Boston is better positioned than Toronto for the future.  one other thing is Lowry turning 32 in march and his numbers down from last year.

you can't beat Father time.   for Toronto it's now. For Boston it is tomorrow.

Usually, but as it relates to the above, I'm mostly indifferent.

You've just repeated several thoughts/scenarios I've communicated here about the Celts and their future.

its very bright.

The Lakers have gone into a free-fall of late, now that makes me happy for a couple of reasons. Whether it continues is unknown, but having that #2-5 chip to cash or trade in the coming draft could be useful.

And agreed about IT not playing tomorrow. I was hoping he'd lace them up.

I know Chip is going to sentence me to eternal damnation, but somebody had to ask the following questions:

Is KP becoming a bust now that everybody knows how to defend and attack him?

Is KP just a nice/very tall player with glaring limitations?

Is KP really the unicorn/superstar we all made him out to be?
