That wasn't intended as a ranking.
I just wanted to make categories.

I almost didn't bother to mention Butler, Klay, DeRozan, as they are established SG young vet stars everyone is already aware of.  It's the new quality SG additions I find interesting.  Gordon, Oladipo and Lamb made up my redemption/break out guys.  [Add in Ellington there too].  Booker and Mitchell the young turks.  Those 5 were the reason for my post.

For quite a while SG was the weakest position, with a lot of JEarls, Afflalos, Fourniers kicking around.  I'd have to check but I think the 26-31 range of SG is particularly weak/bad.

I'm not really a fan of Oladipo's game.  But he's been quite effective.  Think I've seen IND 4x and he's had two clunkers and two outstanding games.  Will be very interesting to see how Oladipo does in the playoffs.  And how he does next year, when presumably the team will build more around him.

Othersowise, I've been a mild Lonzo booster the whole year.  The kid has skills.  I remember when Jason Kidd couldn't shoot.  Few rooks have the complete package.  Ball has some high level skills already.  If he could finish better and make his FT's, he'd be a level better without even improving his shot.  Similar to what you've said on Muddy.  Tangleo also needs to learn how to finish (and cut down on to's).

By the way, Oladipo has improved his FG and 3 pt % 4 straight years

Tough to do.  And he started at 42/33 as a rookie

Oladipo was never going to continue to shoot 42% on 3's (Nov & Dec).
But has managed just 27% in Jan & Feb.

Would be wild if Indy got a 3-4 seed

I agree with you.  Vic's overall grade dependent on his playoff performance and if they win a series

Missed 1Q.
Franc looked good 2Q.  Nicely patient.
Fox looked completely disinterested in the 1st half.
But came alive 3Q.

Jr Tim scoring in the paint.
Mud with zero confidence in his shot.
His highlight was winning burgers for the Cowtown folks.

Zach made a cameo just to make Les happy.

Goofy game.
KO played well.

Fox had one spurt and then faded.

Knick starters with just 2 FT's (Muddy's Jumbo jack trick), and a late tech from Courtly (he also missed).  Starting 5 generating 2 FTA's ...?

Not sure why Knix didn't set Jack free and let him hook up with a playoff team.

Knick losing streak pretty advanced.
Stuck on 24 W's.

Beasley saves the tank during a vintage fake comeback.

Vince Carter forever! Oy!

Burke looks like legit rotation PG material.

I’m trying to imagine what Frank would be if he developed musculature like Andre Igudalla.

Who is the short armed earthbound defensive stud for Kanter to emulate? If there was a style of defensive play he could follow to maximize his strengths and disguise his weaknesses, he could easily earn his contract. Otherwise he’s very good.

Please oh please oh please let’s keep O’Quinn.

Mudiay has such glaring problems to fix. This was a glaring example of most of them.

Portland ahead.

Quality tanking.

Yeah, great loss. Thanks to Vince Carter. Horny really wanted to win.

Tanking is all well and good, but even if it winds up with the Knicks getting a better spot does anybody really believe they'll make a wise choice?

It will be the first draft for this crew. Hard to say what to expect.

Knix have been effective drafters for a decade now.
Even have a solid overseas scouting contingent.

Even better the Knix have also realized that you rarely trade 1st round draft picks, and only when you can get a really get a good player and your team is almost guaranteed to be in the playoffs.

Knix weren't willing to part with a 1st rounder for Lowry, because they had already blown one on Bargage.  Ripple effects of previous mistakes.  But they also weren't willing to give up a 1st for Kemba, a good but not difference-maker player.

The problem is Knix are locked into 9th right now, and Maybe can get to 8th if the Bulls surpass us, with a vague outside shot of 7th.  there just aren't that many games left and the teams below us aren't really trying hard to win.  Kings rested Zach as they were worried about beating NY . . .

The other problem is people are saying this is a 7-man draft, and the talent always drops off steeply after the top 5 - 7 picks.  But there are always good players and even an all-star tucked within #'s 9 - 18.

Knix are competent drafters, I'd trust them to get it right.

Additional factor, our team is weirdly unbalanced.  4 PG's right now, but 3 who are very young, so drafting a PG seems out.  We've reduced the C glut by Selling Low on Willy -- where once again he's 3rd string C and barely playing -- and exiling Noah to limbo.   And since one or more of Franc/Muddy are likely best at SG (or combo-ness), we really have an SG glut (Tim - Courtly - Baker - Mud/Franc).  So clearly the need is to get an athletic 3&D SF.  I tend to support drafting for need/position, mostly because every year the Knix have an obvious void at one or more positions.
