Borderline all-star is exactly where Lee is, and what he'll get paid to be.
Simple enough. But thats overrating Lee. He's only been to one all-star game.

is Chris bosh worth 5 or 6 more million per than lee. 17 vs 11-12 Not sure, probably not on face value. However.... Bosh is having a pretty darn good season. As the best player on a .500 squad I think he is better than LEE overall. I also believe Lebron DOES care which one we get. Combining those two factors, a more impactful player and a bigger draw for Lebron, are probably worth overpaying by several million for Bosh.

Lee gets his numbers playing out of position where his speed and jumpshot give him an advantage over traditional centers. As a PF Lee will not have those advantages. Makes sense. I can't think of any PFs who have had success using speed and a jumpshot. That is precisely my point. Lee's advantages playing against lumbering C's will not be so obvious playing against nimble PFs.

Might play a lesser role on a better constructed team. I think Bogut, Noah and Horford (and Rudy Gay) are also borderline all-stars and they haven't even made one all-star team (afaik). But Lee has been more consistent. Last year he did an even better double-double routine, but without the mid-ranger. Now he's putting up the same 20 & 10 as Boozer and Zach.

I mean, listen to Lee explaining why he can't afford to play defense.
This is all you need to know about why the upside to Lee love in NYC is limited endless double-doubles notwithstanding. Will change when he starts understanding why he can't afford not to play defense. Same goes for our coach. It's possible he picked the wrong town.

This is all you need to know about why the upside to Lee love in NYC is limited endless double-doubles notwithstanding. We’re not talking about limited “Lee Love” lester, we’re talking about open dislike. Even I don’t “love” Lee to the point where I would be shaken up if we move him for a better player (I do actually prefer LBJ+Bosh to LBJ+Lee+Camby, for example.) But I’m at least able to recognize what Lee does contribute. Kam argued last year that Lee could be replaced by a second round pick. Kiid argues that Lee only gets his numbers because we don’t have a good shooting-guard. Pharoah doesn’t think Lee’s play is “impactful.” I think all of these statements are nonsensical. Finally, Les, I think one thing I can “love” about Lee’s game is that it’s ever changing and improving. Lee has set himself apart from just about anyone else in the league in that respect, and will probably continue to do so. Meanwhile, every single year, save maybe his rookie season, we’ve argued about Lee’s value to the team assuming that will never change.

... shows in the one play last night where the pass to Duncan almost EARHOLED David before TD laid the ball in for the easy deuce.
Nevers aw the ball. No sense on D....which is very hard to believe given his awareness at the opposite end.

What does DH mean?
Designated Hitter in Baseball. Think Edgar Martinez with the Mariners. One who only contributes on the offensive end, doesn't have a position in the field.

I didn't call you a typical Knick fan. Rembee introduced that term today.

As per Clyde: See the ball, See your man. That's what defense is all about folks.

Ah baseball, not something I can watch regularly even if I wanted to.
As for Defense philosophy, I think it's Oakley that said "he doesn't take his man's basket personal"
Lee is a great asset to have but he's not the best player, just the best Knick we have right now.
