Or at least draft week? I hope the site is up for the next couple days...these are crucial times.

Rumours of trading up. Rumours of a second lottery pick. Not to mention the constant rumours Nagel and I make of getting rid of Zach Randolph. There's too much going on to not have a forum.

Here's my prediction to counter Kid - no moves today. No moves until Donnie sees who slips to 6.

Second prediction - despite the fact that many mocks now have Bayless slipping (past the Knicks) and Westbrook rising (past the Knicks the other way), it says here the Don simply does not pass on Bayless. Yeah, he's got an Arenas/Marbury game, but he's got a Mardy Collins brain. He can be coached.

I'm thrilled, by the way, that Winslow's dream of drafting DeAndre Jordan with the 5th pick is now officially dead. In fact, Jordan has gone from a sure-fire bust as a mid-lottery pick to a potential steal in the late 20s. I'm ok with the Knicks taking a flyer on Jordan if they acquire a late first-rounder.

one canhope the site is up for the next 48 hrs.

The Lee/Memphis deal has to be contingent on Mayo being there and love being gone.

I'm convinced Memhis wants Love.

so here goes

Bulls     Rose
Heat     Beasley  ( fail to deal w/ Seattle for Wilcox and Pick becasue Minny will
                          take Mayo)

Minny    Mayo
Seattle  Bayless
Memphis Love
NY         Westbrook.

musings and wild rumors

"Now options with Marion can be explored, possibly those including picks in Thursday's draft. One permutation would be the Knicks' No. 6 pick and guard Stephon Marbury, who holds an expiring contract, for Marion and center Mark Blount.

IMO -  just shoot me.

Given that stalemate, it’s possible that Baron Davis, who wants to stay in the Bay Area but was disappointed with the lowball offers from the Warriors, will ask to be dealt. And the team source said that the Detroit Pistons, rebuffed initially in their attempts to pry forward Carmelo Anthony from the Denver Nuggets, are now looking at Davis as a potential target

IMO   no chance

"General manager Kiki Vandeweghe and the team's scouts have debated for weeks how the four remaining players in the top 10 rank. It is believed that they rank them in this order: Gordon, Gallinari, Lopez and Bayless. "

IMO  Gallinari if Knicks pass

The Grizzlies and Heat have talked about swapping first-round picks. In a rumored deal Miami would acquire Mike Miller, Kyle Lowry, and the No. 5 pick for the second selection, but Memphis countered with Miller, Lowry, and the No. 28 pick.

According to ESPN.com, the Heat want the Grizzlies to send Miller, Conley, and the No. 5 pick for the No. 2 pick and Daequan Cook.

IMo

 no deal will be made.

Blazers have a number of 2nd round picks, so I'm guessing they gave one to the Hornets along with cash.

Seems strange.  Hornets need a better bench, and yet they give away a 1st rounder.
Maybe they figure they need to get more vets, while they have Julian Wright developing.
Hibbert would make a nice back up to Chandler.
Chalmers could back-up Paul.
But both have seemed to have moved up around 20.
I guess they figure the guy(s) they want won't be there at 27.

NO really needs a wing, and CDR or Batum might be nice to take a flyer on at 27
Or Portland's #33 or 36 could get a free look at Bill Walker or Courtney Lee.
Or Weems or Forbes.

Maybe they'll trade or use the MLE to improve the bench.

It takes good intelligent long term planning.  You shouldn't buy picks if you don't have decent roster spots along with a reasonable salary cap.

I'm in the process of reading the "7 seconds or less" book and well, Marion is a whiny little "fill in blank". He wouldn't mind being on a losing team as long as he's the man. He has a hard time coping not being considered the best player and he continuously needs to be reassured.

Now the book isn't hating on Marion but nevertheless this is the overall impression I get .

Oh and this little nugget

"there are good shots and there are better shots"

that's the philosophy of the 7 seconds or less
- the extra pass
- create the offense by swift movement before the opponent's defense is set

As for Weber, apparently he has impressive skills with the ladies
As for Iavaroni, this was the defensive specialist our assistant coaches staff is missing
As for Dan D'Antoni, he'll most likely be the guide for the young rookie

As for Gentry, he doesn't want to uproot his family and raise them in New York. You've got to respect that.

Papabear Says

I don't know what all the fuss is about Westbrooks or Mayo. They'd be lucky if they got to play 5 min a game. Remember Marbs and Craw is still on the team along with N8. Last year we talked so much about Chandler and all he did was sit the pine.
We will have to trade Marbs or he just might poison the new guys. I was a big Marb fan but after seeing that he was all about himself we don't need him.

OK mello for a bag of balls? Does free up space though. RW or Lopez in answer to the poll.

For that matter, where did ten years of Knicks hoops go?

Since it is 2008 again..."Be careful what you wish for Knicks fans.  Trading multiple assets and multiple #1 picks is not a template for success moving forward..."
