Celtics in 3.
My limited foray into predicting the playoffs has done well so far: I feel fairly certain that Orlando couldn't make it through both Cleveland and Boston. Unfortunately for my thesis, they don't have to. Then again, it's unclear if Boston can make it through two tough series.
I'm taking the Boston-Cavs winner to knock off Orlando. Which would mean a Boston-LA finals. I think the Suns can beat the Spurs but not LA, while the Spurs could beat LA if they survive Phoenix Hard to picture the creaky Celts winning three tough series ...
& I'm not terribly sold on Orlando. Jameer is too erratic for me, Vince plays much better with a lead, Dwight can get in foul trouble, Shard can disappear. I do like their role players -- Pietrus, Barnes, Gortat, Reddick, along with Bass, Jason Williams and Ryan Air. Gortat and Reddick have shown up. Barnes is hobbled. Pietrus with not much presence.

Celtics in 6.
As long as the referees allow some East Coast Ball on the West Coast, where taking a Pau Gasol flob has become soccer-like. If this is still a man's game and is reffed as such, Celtics have a punchers chance. They just need two relative bad nights from Kobe, and they have a chance.

I didn't know he was supposedly hurt, shit, they all look gimpy, but Phil whining about rough play is screwy, right?? I know it's that mind-game, but it's silly, are you rooting for L.A.??

I suppose they are using that crappy 2-3-2 format like usual? I hatehatehate that.
Big advantage to the home team. If the road team doesn't steal one of the first two games, they are Doomed. Very difficult to win three straight against a higher seed. And if somehow you do, and the series holds serve, the home team gets both game 6 and 7 at home. If it goes to a 6th game, it's almost rigged so the Home team is up 3-2. Very very difficult for the Road team to get a closeout game on their home court.

I'm always amused when the local sportscasters in LA and now it seems at ESPN say that the LA Lakers are going for their 16th title. They ignore the fact that 5 of those titles belong to Minn/St.Paul metropolitan area. You don't get to take titles with you from another city after you desert them.I don't think they had a rapist on those Minn teams either.

Well, Kobe paid off an ANAL RAPE, that much is history.
Now, he is hated by everybody other than inner-city poverty-ridden folks who hate cops and the denizens of the pillar of Western Civilization, Los Angeles.
I like the Lakers -5 in game one though, that is easy fucking money.

If you are referring to the ANALRAPIST Kobe Bryant, I thought that was acknowledged to be true when he paid her an undisclosed amount of money, why don't we say $1.6M??, is that why this thread is so classy, becasue that's what happened when a sociopath gets out of an ANALRAPIST charge, sorry that's not CLASSY enough for you, I think it makes him a HORRIBLE MONSTER that he is, to hurt a woman the way he did, but, I'm sorry that it's not a CLASSY thing to bring up the fact that he is a SHITBAG.

I actually thought the second part was the more offensive, but you present a convincing case to the contrary, despite the atrocious grammar and syntax. Otherwise, your opinion is greatly needed on an urgent matter of raging debate in the Idiot Forum. And don't forget to stop by the Blowhard Forum now and then and show us all how it's done.

I don't know anybody that likes Kobe, but everybody respects his play, probably the best Laker ever if they win the series. Ben Roth__ (avoiding spelling error), same way now. Nobody's really buying the whole, oh, that's just Big old horny Ben being Ben anymore.
My sister was funny about Tiger, she said "If I was Elin, I would say, go ahead, do your thing, and I'd have a pool boy and a nanny and chill out..."
I said what about going back to Europe and buying a castle or a Palace...
She's like, ok, and a pool boy and a nanny...
