whiskey, I can't believe you missed out on a trip to Dollywood.

barton.....Does Sean Michael Scott = Sean William Scott? I only ask because I also get SWS and RSL mixed up. Robert Sean Leonard (the House one) has made some really good movies; and Sean William Scott (Dukes of Hazzard, Dude Where's My Car?) has made some really bad ones.  But the combination of three names, Sean being one of them, makes me take a moment to be sure which one I'm thinking of.

Yeah, I meant Sean Bill, not Sean Mike.

Just for fun....a challenge thrown out to listeners of NPR's "the Puzzler" -- make a riddle that is answered by a Spoonerism.  Here's an example:

What's the difference between Curious George in aspic and a laid-back addict?

One is a jello monkey, the other a mellow junkie.

Oldest one I know: what's the difference between a nun and a woman in the shower?  The nun has hope in her soul.  Prolly won't appear on NPR.

Probably not, but I'm sure Will Shortz would think it was funny.  A classic!

How many actors does it take to screw in a light bulb?

1,000. One to do it and the others to say, "I would've done that differently."

As for me, one only needs a moment
rearranging Scrabble pieces to find
my ineffable essence.

R A N T B O  =  B A R T O N

(Ineffable essence = Invisible penis?)

And Princess Whitebread?

Surely it's FoxyKnoxy back again?

But then, surely enquiring minds would rather not know...

In the title of the current film, "Cats and Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore," lies a sly reference to a character in what famous 1960's film?

(previous poster is on Ignore, so if there is another trivia question still in play, pardon the interruption)

Pussy Galore, played by Honor Blackman (neither black nor man  Smiley) in Goldfinger, a Sean-Connery-as-James-Bond movie from 1964.

(Go again, rantbo, I got nothin' and only posted to greet you and say you've been missed and to say hi to also-missed harrie if you see her elsewhere.)

Thanks Nyt, missed you, too.  And will pass along greetings to Harrie.  You answer: neither black, nor man, as you say, but perhaps had some honor.  Will try to come up with something else, soon.

OK...who was first known only as "the Biograph girl" ?  OK, part two of the question:  what was the name on her birth certificate?

No.  This actress was from Toronto, had a drunken Irish father and classic bad-childhood pain and drama that helped her find emotional depth in her roles.  She worked for Griffith, when he was still in New York making pictures for Biograph.  She wasn't known by her stage name at that time, because those early films had no credits of any kind, hence "the Biograph girl."

You seem to be ignoring the possibility that, since none of the Biograph films included credits, there might be another actress known as "Biograph Girl" in addition to Ms. Pickford.  Which oversight I artfully exploited by naming the other "Biograph Girl", the onomatopoeiaic Ms. Lawrence, instead of the expected Gladys Smith.
