I was blissfully unaware of another Biograph actress earning the "the." OK, smartypants, ask one. Stupefy us.

I note this:
So Bobby Thomson's death brings up a question:
What famous movie contains a snippet from Hodges's famous broadcast of the 1951 Dodgers/Giants playoff game - albeit from an inning or two before the Shot Heard Round the World?
Remains unanswered elsewhere.....

I'm thinking it's being broadcast while someone is getting whacked in one of the Godfather movies -- 1951, would have to be Godfather II?

Yes and no. It's what Sonny is listening to just before he has issues in the tollbooth.

Right, I figured it out over at Third Eye -- it's a timeline error in GF I. Should have been the late forties.

Whose stat is this?
Won Oscar Best Actor in a Supporting Role Nominated Oscar Best Actor in a Leading Role
Golden Globe Best Supporting Actor
New York Film Critics Circle Awards Won NYFCC Award Best Actor
All these were for the same role, same film, all but first were in same year (Best Actor Oscar was 1 year later than other 3) and the actor had quite a charming accent.

Can't be Pacino, because his noms were for the same role, but in two different films, G I and G II, as Michael. And no charming accent.
That leaves Barry Fitzgerald, who got the nom for best lead in Going My Way, but won as best supporting. And had the charming accent. I think Going My Way was the film that caused the Academy to clarify the rules on defining a performance.

Excellent, rantbo, I came across the trivium when I had to look him up while watching Bringing Up Baby, in which his signature line upon seeing Baby is "And they say 'Don't drink Gogarty'" as he unearths his hidden bottle.
Carry on...

That was fun! BTW, I once learned that "trivia" comes from an intersection in Rome of three streets (i.e. tri Via), so the word is sui generis a plural, "three streets."
BTW, if anyone can nail this quote, they will be helping me solve a trivia question at another website and thus earn my deepest gratitude and some sort of nebulous future karmic gift....
"Nothing you can be more is more terrible than what I am." It looks to be from a genre B movie, maybe sci-fi/horror?

No, but I can tell you that what you learned about trivia is something we learned in Latin by dealing with it everyday. Which makes you more Protestant than I am; I am just a protestant by comparison who defends the right of Protestants to protest.
You learn this before you can learn that alumnus is singular for alumni which is masculine plural whereas alumna is singular feminine for alumnae which is feminine plural. I hope.

I don't believe my mother taught me to count in Latin however. I always had trouble with Math.

The answer to the Sept. 26 question was The Brain that Wouldn't Die.
Here's one:
The fine "October Sky," with Jake Gyllenhaal and Chris Cooper, originally had a different title. "October Sky" is, in fact, an anagram of that title.

"Stocker Boy" is getting pretty close. Move, lessee, three letters and you're there.
