"Here's an Iraqi leaflet they dropped on us. American soldiers, your wives are back home having sex with Bart Simpson and Burt Reynolds. Yea, they didn't exactly do their homework there."

Who says this?

Great quote and sorry I missed that a new trivia was up, Knox.

That would be Kevin Spacey in Les Hommes Qui Regarde-Fixement des Chevres.

This one is courtesy of my son:

With the exception of Ladykillers, what is a common feature of all Coen films through 2008?  (it relates to the names of featured cast members).  One could also rephrase it as what is the common feature of all Coen films worth seeing through 2008.

(the answer is contained in a post at 3rd Eye, in the Coen thread)

So I'll leave it alone, then.  And it is through 2009 as well.  Cf., Mike Fagel.

I think I had it a couple days ago, but was too lazy to type it in.  They all have a Jon, Jo(h)n, or Jon(es) in them?  What's funny is that the film that doesn't is also their odd-film-out, as in the one you would want to strike from any Coen retrospeck.

No Jon/John in the cast list for True Grit.  Is that a bad sign?

I just hope that if they keep the line where LaBoeuf says he'd thought about stealing a kiss from Maddie but now is glad he didn't, Matt Damon's delivery of said line can erase the Glen Campbell stilted, bad-acting whiny noise that has been kicking around my head all these years.

The fictional Roderick Jaynes being named as DP?

Maybe a bad sign.  Just the fact that it's a remake -- their only other remake was the ghastly Ladykillers.

Oh, and Knox, you're up.

"Ladykillers" is funnier than "Hudsucker," IMO.

Editing.  The great Roger Deakins is DP.  Of course.

Jbot -- that is highly debatable (that Ladykillers is funnier than Hudsucker).  We're talking about a film (LadyK) that tried to maintain comedic momentum with IBS jokes, funny teeth, and...ok, I've forgotten the rest in some kind of PTSD reaction to pain.
