I really hope that they gave him something for -- Big Love, the tv series, in which he was an outstanding  "man of a certain age" more or less opposite Harry Dean Stanton, a man of uncertain age in a story which has just hit the headlines as of yesterday.

H'ray for kit and others mit correct answers and added info re dad (so very effective and scary in Coming Home which I haven't seen in far too long, though I did also recently see Jon Voight in Conrack--my vote for Pat Conroy's best book to movie over The Great Santini).

Rambling Rose was recently on HBO, had forgot the hot button (sorry, couldn't resist) topic(s) and the serious chills I got when first viewing it upon reflection that there were not just institutionalization but surgical "solutions" to the problem called "nymphomania" back in the day and who knows maybe even now.

Thanks all, anon...

In what film does Bruce Dern take saving the trees to a new level?

nytempsperdu,

Have you ever seen Voight,as The Good Communist --or, whatever it was called?  It is one of those films seldom shown because of the title and contents, someone figured it might be catching. And then he gets cranky. You begin to understand where his daughter got that pout from.

Actually, it was called,The Revolutionary; and was so dull, I thought it was about Germany, possibly East. Instead it turns out to be what some consider the exceptional rehash of our 1968 read out  about Rocking the World; I never would have guessed.

One can never predict when I will laugh, which is why there usually empty seats on both sides of me in theaters, restaurants, tram cars, church pews, etc.

"Much higher," if I infer the meaning correctly, would indicate that Kitin has the answer and is therefore now the Anointed Asker of the moment.

Hhhhhmmm, how about who jokingly stated that they'd "do" a movie for a million dollars and then became the first (actor/actress) to get it?

Seems there's some question as to whether William Holden or Sean Connery was the first actor -- looking for the actress here...
