[/b]Police hope horror crashes ‘shock’ NSW motorists into driving safely[/b]

#####

Watching people burning to death etc in car accidents on my tv news has shocked me into staying home and never driving on the roads again.
But I have to drive to the country, 'on country roads' where 'all' the horror crashes happen, soon...many hours there, and many hours back.

You're driving along safely then next minute a drunk/drugged/texting on phone/fallen asleep/inattentive driver crosses over to your side of the road and wipes you out.
If you're lucky you'll die instantly...if not lucky you'll be trapped in the car and be slowly burnt to death as if ISIS terrorists have put you in a bread oven.

Hmmm, guns won't help...guess all that is left is prayer.

To most people, I would recommend reasoned thought, rather than prayer.

Australia had a rate of 5.4 motor vehicle deaths per 100,000 people per year in 2013. There are 23 countries whose rates are better. Only 5 of those have more people.

The world average is more than triple that, at 17.4 mv deaths per 100,000 people per year.

Australia saw 5.2 mv deaths per BILLION kilometers driven in 2013. We don't have an average for the world for me to compare that to, but three of those 5 countries that had more people in the prior measure are worse than Australia in this one, two of them 50% or more worse.

Auto deaths are not among the top 20 causes of deaths in Australia. 17th is accidental falls. 16th is suicide. Most of the rest are various health issues (heart, cancer, etc.)

Australia's death by murder fell to a record low, at 1 per 100,000 people. Less than a fifth of the auto death rate.

Your fears run your life beyond the point of absurdity.

What's absurd are the penalties for people driving while drunk, drugged, texting, fiddling with the radio etc and crashing into other vehicles and killing people/maiming people for life.
Also, the billions being given away to Indonesia etc, and countries that don't even seem to like Australia one iota...could be used to place concrete bollards in the middle of all roads, to divide the traffic and save lives.

On a bride dress show from America, on my tv the other day, there was a pretty young woman trying to select a bridal gown for herself.
She was very nice.
She only has one leg. Her other leg was blown off by Islamic terrorists in the Boston bombings.

Baaah!

This was hilarious:

Quote
The Moore campaign’s main argument is that high Democratic turnout and low support for Moore in the state’s most populous, urban counties resulted in an “implausible, unexplained 35 percent drop in votes for Roy Moore relative to the vote share of Republican Party straight-line votes.”

Agree with Bruni.  We can't be the car alarms that always go off, as Sen. McCain put it.

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2017/12/28/upshot/sexual-harassment-survey-600-men.html?hp&action=click&pgtype=Homepage&clickSource=story-heading&module=photo-spot-region&region=top-news&WT.nav=top-news

We Asked 615 Men About How They Conduct Themselves at Work

The victims of sexual harassment who have recently come forward are far from alone: Nearly half of women say they have experienced some form of it at work at least once in their careers. But there has been little research about those responsible.

In a new survey, about a third of men said they had done something at work within the past year that would qualify as objectionable behavior or sexual harassment.

We asked: In the last year at work, have you …

. Told sexual stories or jokes that some might consider offensive?
. Made remarks that some might consider sexist or offensive?
. Displayed, used or distributed materials (like videos or cartoons) that some might consider sexist or suggestive?
. Made attempts to draw someone into a discussion of sexual matters even though the person did not want to join in?
. Made gestures or used body language of a sexual nature, which embarrassed or offended someone?
. Continued to ask someone for dates, drinks or dinner even though he or she said no?
. Made attempts to establish a romantic sexual relationship with someone despite that person’s efforts to discourage it?
. Touched someone in a way that made him or her feel uncomfortable?
. Made uninvited attempts to stroke, fondle or kiss someone?
. Offered or implied rewards if someone engaged in sexual behavior? Or treated someone badly if he or she didn’t?

Each face below represents one man who responded to the survey, and the behaviors he admitted to. Taken together, the faces give a sense of just how widespread this conduct is, and the forms it may take.

Traffic serious/serial offenders should be banned from the roads and made wear ankle bracelets with cameras/alerts and be monitored 24/7 for vehicle use.

THE driver who ploughed into a Home And Away star and her family was a serial traffic offender and known drug user.

The Daily Telegraph can reveal that Craig Anthony Whitall, 50, who also died in the inferno on Boxing Day, had been jailed for driving while disqualified and was driving on P-plates having only recently got his licence back.

Witnesses have told police that they saw Mr ?Whitall’s white Toyota Prado drifting onto the opposite side of the Princes Hwy at least twice shortly before it smashed into the Falkholt family’s Mazda head-on near Sussex Inlet.

Promising actor Jessica Falkholt, 28, who had just completed her first feature film starring role, and her sister Annabelle Falkholt, 21, were clinging to life last night after suffering horrific burns in the crash that killed their father Lars Falkholt, 69, and mother Vivian Falkholt, 60.

Vanity Fair's 6 Resolutions for Hillary Clinton

I don't know which way is up anymore. I'm drowning in a deep pool of shallow enders! No matter which way I swim, it seems the pool just keeps getting deeper!

A bunch of brain dead youngsters hoisting the drink they think they discovered and telling Hillary to just get over it. Ridiculing the first woman ever to win the popular vote for President of the United States, because it's all her fault that... that... it doesn't matter what, it's ALL her fault.

And then the Prex comes out and twits that Vanity Fair is wrong for having apologized for their bad, "joke."

And Fox is mad at the liberal elites who don't think the 6 Rez is funny, after all they thought that Cathy Griffin's Trump head was funny... Even though CG has paid a big price for her boorishness. And that isn't because of a right wing boycott! It's because the liberal elites said, "Bad Taste! Back to the F list for you." ("...Let's forget you better still." I won't even waste an ! on her.)

To obliquely refer to Huckabee comparing Trump and Churchill: "It is a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma...?" Russia? No, "The Media."  It's a game of tag between Morons, reporting on immature idiots, reporting on numbskulls."

Russia Warns U.S.: Don’t ‘Meddle’ In Upcoming Presidential Election
Uh-Oh…..Trouble in Bro-land? How will our All-America-First president deal with this? A sharp slap on the wrist to Vladdy? Or will he just roll over and give him a love call on the phone?
DT“Oh Vlad….you certainly didn’t have anything to do with this, did you?”
VP“Oh Donald, Donald….Donchitka….Nyet! You know that I would never, never do anything to hurt you. How long have we known each other?”
DT-"Oh, About seven months…."
VP"Hmmmmm…..Seems longer ….Much, much longer…."
In the meantime, while Vlad is speaking to him over the speaker phone the Donald is (unsuccessfully) trying to tweet out a lie to the American people that will reasonably cover up this situation. He searches for an appropriate emoji, but all he can find that is close is a broken hearted emoji. The Trumpster makes an executive decision that this emoji might not quite express his total awesomeness so he continues to search for another….After awhile, trying to do two things at once (phone call and tweet) exhausts him and he directs his full attention to his master in Moscow….
VP"Listen, Donald….You just tell your supporters that I am trying to make sure that our wonderful Soviet….uh, err….make that Russian elections do not end up being as rigged as you have said American elections are. I am sure that if you say it they will believe it. Well, at least 25% of them will….."
VP--"Do svidaniya old friend….."

You could suggest that Newsmax hire them as pollsters.

Smoked too many onesies?

http://beta.latimes.com/nation/la-na-erica-garner-brain-dead-20171228-story.html

Doctors have listed the daughter of police chokehold victim Eric Garner as brain dead with no chance of recovery — five days after the mother of two suffered a massive heart attack.

Family members were being called early Thursday to Woodhull Hospital in Brooklyn to say final goodbyes to Erica Garner, who became an outspoken critic of police brutality after her father's death in 2014.
