Hopper's first wife was Brooke Hayward, the daughter of actress Margaret Sullavan and agent Leland Hayward, and author of the best-selling memoir "Haywire." They had a daughter, Marin, before Hopper's drug-induced violence led to divorce after eight years.

Having first predicted the oncoming death of Dennis Hopper twelve days ago, I must admit to having read the best-seller above some years ago, more than I can remember. I also don't recall that she mentioned him but he was not my favorite person at the time anymore than he was her's.
I read it because of Leland, a very important Broadway producer. It is an absolutely fascinating book to read on the inter-relationships of show business.

I don't know where to put this, so I'll put it here, As Abby Sunderland spends her last day aboard a French fishing vessel whose crew rescued her from a disabled sailboat and is ferrying her to an island in the Indian Ocean, criticism of her parents has intensified regarding -- most recently -- the high cost of the rescue and their involvement in a TV reality show.http://www.grindtv.com/outdoor/blog/18016/stormy+seas+take+on+new+meaning+in+abby+sunderland+saga/ I had picked up on this story a few months ago, and hadn't followed it much since but the daring rescue jolted my memory. Of course, one can ask why parents would let their 16-year old embark on such a voyage, but Abby wouldn't be the first to find herself in such a mess trying to circumnavigate the globe, and it seems a bit much for the Aussies to try to stick the Sunderlands with a $300,000 tab for the rescue, especially when it was a French fishing vessel that ultimately came to her rescue. Seems to me the Sunderlands could sell the movie rights to this story to cover the cost, if necessary. Dakota Fanning?

Dakota is already too old for that role, in every sense it's possible to be too old -- and I mean that as a compliment.

Dakota is the same age. I think it is pretty amazing what Abby did. Her parents are another matter. I see Catherine O'Hara and Jeffrey Jones as the parents Here's more on Sunderland, http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100615/ap_on_re_eu/eu_teen_sailor she strikes me as a remarkably composed young woman to brave those elements and tell her tale in such a calm way. Turns out she's not the first 16 year-old to do this. Jessica Watson did it in May, but she's an Aussie.

Didn't meant it literally, nor am I down on Abby personally. Just think of Dakota as an older soul, somehow. Catherine O'Hara and Jeffrey Jones were the parents of the levitating senorita in Beetlejuice so, yeah, I can see them playing parents who are more about their own prestige and status.

Someone on Gawker, who had sailed around the world as a teen (in a group) themselves, had this insight:
I don't necessarily have a problem with her age. I sailed around the world myself from 17-18 years old. I did it with a group of similarly aged kids, on a sailboat, over 16 months. My problem (and what all of yours should be as well) is that she set off at a terrible time so that she could cash in on her age. It's BS that she did it for the sake of "just to do it". If so, she would have set off from Cali in our summer, putting her in the Southern Indian Ocean in its summer, when THERE WOULDN'T BE THIRTY FOOT WAVES.
Nobody, except for million dollar+ battle-tested sailboats and crews go into the southern indian during winter. It's storm fucking city. But if she had left this summer, she wouldn't be in line to break a record, and thus, wouldn't have anything to sell.

This reminded me so much of somebody else who could have written that response that I have to go back to our television viewing and check this out. It is just so coincidental.
Meanwhile did you real the Mercede Johnson interview intro-ed on same page as your link? The responses were stupid, whereas she was sincere; why not? Might as well be.

Apparently, it was a pretty tight fit for Megan Fox, "It's small," she tells MTV News. "We got it down to 18 inches. But in the action scenes, we loosened it up, because everyone was afraid I was going to pass out."http://omg.yahoo.com/news/megan-fox-reveals-she-wore-18-inch-corset-in-new-flick/42343?nc The price of being a Hollywood Glamor Girl.
