Osaka kicked Serena's spoiled, entitled, faux-feminist ass. What a sad display and an embarrassment to the game, and to the USA, sEilliams put on!

waaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh

Just impossible to root for

GOAT indeed. Truly amazing.

Biles brother just indicted for a triple murder in Cleveland.
Some folks tried to crash a party and three were left dead by bullets.
Otherwise, this is a terrific article about the how and why that tennis grips have changed over the years.

You see some guys wind up in odd ways and unleash strange looking whipping motions. Here it is explained quite well.

Damn - really upsetting to not get a BENCIC-WILLIAMS US Open final.
I dont think the Canadian has a chance.
Hail, Serena!

There's no thread for competitive eating, so I'll post this here....
(CNN)A woman has choked to death on a lamington -- Australia's national cake -- during an eating competition to celebrate the country's national day.
The 60-year-old was taking part in a lamington and pie eating competition in the coastal city of Hervey Bay, in the state of Queensland, according to CNN affiliate Nine News.
The event took place at the Beach House Hotel on Sunday to mark Australia Day -- a public holiday typically celebrated with parades, fireworks and food festivals around the country.
Does that count as a win?

Saw a good portion of final 2 sets last night - SERENA vs a real tough Euro (I think) opponent of her calibre.
Williams is just so mentally tough. Evenly fought but she never wavered - won the big points in the third.
I hear Ozaka (is that her name?) fended off 2 match points to reach the final 8.

And then.......
well, machines break down.

Osaka with a boss move...
“You want press? Here ya go! I’m out!”

“You want press? Here ya go! I’m out!”
And here you trumpet yourself as an advocate for mental health.

I think you misread Larry's post as opposed to Osaka's move. I think he was approving. (I could be wrong.)

That the gamblers watch things so closely as to point to a singular questionable moment is not that shocking, I suppose, but "Ooh! That double fault there! That's suspicious!" strikes me as a bit extreme compared to what I would have considered likely.

The 34-year-old reigning Australian Open champion could easily have defended his title by getting a safe, highly effective vaccine that would protect him and others from the coronavirus. Instead, he, like some other high-profile athletes, has made a spectacle of trying to bend the rules - thereby showing that, besides COVID, the other sickness the world is fighting is selfishness...

Why should you never marry a tennis player?

Because love means nothing to them.
