Wasnt complaining that it was Whitlock

Your inability to follow even the basics of the game is stunning.

Your assumption that you know why the starter was removed is the issue, Kid.

I know why he was removed.  Said so at the time.

7 inning game.

Went to the pen - and much too early at 58 pitches.  The hitters coming up, as I spelled out at the time, had done nothing in the ballgame.

Cora overmanaged.  Houck escaped a jam in the 4th, yes - but was at just 58 pitches.  Sox will miss the playoffs with some of their best having been underutilized

Or.....maybe we see a bit of a change today.

Entering Tuesday, Barnes had a 15.19 ERA in eight outings in August.

No, but this might be his last closing appearance for a while.

I see Padres are opening the door for Phils, Reds, Cards.

Should be an interesting finish

A's nose-diving in AL also has some teams WC hopes increase.  Could we see Yanks and Sox both make the dance?

I guess 90 pitches (season high) was the magic number for HOUCK.  Joey took his win away.

"Oh? Da Ball?" Herrera is a horrible fielder, and essentially gave away the game last night. That, and the fact that Rhys's pieces (groin injury) are still bugging him, and they are taking it slow---so he didn't play.

Kid put a single statistical win ahead of a pitcher's health.

Unless the manager left him in too long, whereupon the shrill one's voice would be crying out to get rid of the man for misusing talent.

Have I mentioned how stupid I think it was to release Workman and bring in these bozos?

If you go into the 10th inning with Mr. 2.0 WHIP, you can bet at least one run will score.

I grant you, I would not have bet on 5.

More importantly - couldnt get the winning run in from 3rd in the ninth - with one out.

But....

WELCOME, SCHWARBER.

Not to replay a hypothetical game, but if Vaz runs on anything with two out, rather than losing track of the outs, Schwarber's 2-run dinger is the walk-off game winner.

Verdugo's AB was pretty bad, just hit a fucking flyball, but Vaz base running brain fart was brutal, if he was paying attention he scores 100% of the time.

What play are you talking about? What inning?
