Mets announcers were amused as Robles was closing the game last night.  SoI flipped it on and found there was good reason

Escaped.  But going nowhere.  Where the hell is Bogaerts?

Another Mets castoff, Chris Flexen, factors in today - for Seattle.

Have Sox settled on someone?  Houck, maybe?

Kershaw hurt.

LA won't have him for the playoffs.

Quote
"Her diptheria, she's been here ten years now."

Closed captioning - the announcer said, "And Meredith, she's been here ten years now."

Tampa has invaded the northeast, NYC appears ready to fall. We may lose the Bronx to the southern mob, as they batter Yankee forces but we need to hold the line at the coming Battle of the Bs in Foxboro Sunday night. We must remember in the face of pirates and savage  buccaneers ,we are all Patriots.

Are balls and strikes worse than they used to be two or three years ago?

Thats a good question.

I remember WBW when umps had more predictable strikes zones, a strike was a strike and a ball a ball, I took my girl friend to the game. And I kissed her on the strikes and she kissed me on the balls. Great game.

Speaking of great games, Houck goes 5 perfect innings, Sox nurse a 1-run lead, until the shit lits the fan, but LSS, the bats explode in the 9th for 4 and a real good win.

Not dead yet.

It was a great game.

I really wish Eck would stop saying things like "now we can breath" and the like.

And I wish we had a closer.

But, as you say, awinzawin.

My hope for tomorrow?

Red Sox win, Yankees lose, and Toronto and Seattle both win, with Seattle having won tonight, as well.

This WC race has been perplexing, aggravating, teeth gnashing, head scratching, kept me up past my bedtime on some nights but mostly a lot of fun. I too hope the Sox win and we get the triple tie scenario. Where the eventual WC survivor must face the Tampa buzz saw in the ALDS.

I'd like to take a moment to wish Ken Singleton well in his retirement. I listened to a lot of his reminiscences during today's TB/NY game. Getting to take the time you want to play with grandkids is special.

He was a very good player and, I gather, as good an announcer.

Seattle comes back in the bottom of the 8th after losing their lead in the top.

They hang on to win, to give them a relevant game 162!

A 4 way tie is still possible as are multiple 3 way ties. Or no meaningful tie at all. (RS/Yanks would be a tie without significance.)

So we need Boston and NY to lose, and Seattle and Toronto to win for maximum chaos?

I too once met a girl in Central Park, but it is not much to remember. What I remember is the time John Wayne killed three men with a carbine as he was falling to the dusty street in Stagecoach, and the time the kitten found Orson Welles in the doorway in The Third Man.
