Hers the situation.
There is a Democratic Party and a Cult of Personality:
Fifty-three percent of Republicans said Trump was a better president than Lincoln, while 47 percent chose the Civil War-era leader.

Trump's farmer bailout now costing taxpayers
2 times the Auto Bailout in 2008-9.
One was a bipartisan effort that was clearly necessary to prevent larger economic collapse and that was successfully designed to allow the government to recoup a large part of what it handed out. Still, Republicans tried for
eight years to present that bailout as an albatross that was representative of King Obama's profligate spending and his picking and choosing winners.
The other is a pure political giveaway that was (and continues to be) an effort made necessary by stupid and destructive tariffs that serve no clear benefit to the US.
And yet strangely, Republicans fully support it.
Farmer bailout is
everything Republicans claimed the Auto bailout was, but actually wasn't. Yet the later (supposedly) helped inspire an entire political movement amongst Conservatives, while the farmers get bored shrugs at best, while the 'president" continues to do long term damage to the industry.
Republicans are a cult of personality now, but can also be said to be a cult of Party. There are
zero principles here, beyond "Scoreboard!"
