Damn.  Trump just said, "The police have done a great job"

Surely he will be criticized for that general assertion

It is the custom,  in democracies,  to criticize leaders when they lie.   While that statement may be too general to function as an overt lie,  it's breathtaking omission of the present reality for people of color does call for some feedback.   Feedback and factcheck is part of how we keep public officials accountable.  If it fails to affect said official,  then that official is corrupt and should be removed.

Paterson at night?  No thanks Fac.  But you seem to have missed the point.  There were citizens randomly there who froze.

They obeyed the police, which is what you and Ward keep saying they must do to stay safe.

Had they tried to act, they, too, might be dead, but YOU would say it was justifiable homicide.

Asshole.

Wow,  that is one tall squirrel.

(sorry,  not going to cut/paste the previous post that prompted that)
Barton requires raw news to be run through his favorite filter first.
But it is refreshing to see him admit that the  impeachment fraud is now reduced to “ squirrel” status.

So, if it were YOU close enough to videotape Floyd's death, don't you think you would have done something?

I can appreciate everyone"s take on the matter who was there.  And their critique of Officer That for doing nothing.  But what happens if a citizen intervenes?

You might have a chance.

If I intervened?

I’d need a lawyer and a surgeon and not in that order.

Damn.  Trump just said, "The police have done a great job"

Then he was baited by a reporter - "Do you think there were good people among the protestors?"

Obviously they wanted him to say NO, then they could compare it to Charlottesville.

He should be criticized
.

The cops fucked this up all the way around including the state police arresting an American journalist in AMERICA on fucking live TV. Oh, yeah. He’s a black latino... figures.

Don’t ever say another fucking word about the first amendment.

It’s called chaff, Fritz. Thanks all the same. You keep blitzing and we’ll do our level best to put you down in The Channel rather than letting you limp home to your father land.

See?  You commented without context.  Trump was alluding to cops across the nation - and he is right - the majority are very good - and doing an extremely tough job.

There are shitty janitors, too.  Except usually nobody dies.

How about a 12 year max on being a  street cop?  I think the guys that have been in that atmosphere for so long lose their ability to reason - and their patience.  (Not saying a guy out of the academy cant also be a bad apple)

12 years - desk job

18 - full pension.

25?  Full, plus a pat on the ass.

Right

Who has defended them?

I think murder 2 might stick - but they had to be careful  Differnce in sentencing is just 15 years (25 v 40 max) - and charging up to 2 - though I think that is what likely occurred - would run the risk of an acquittal

As of now the case looks air tight.

One of the saddest things about last night is that the most egregious acts are being attributed to the African American community in Minneapolis.   Most of the members of this subset neither participated nor wanted to see Minneapolis burn.

That’s a big fucking EXCEPT.

In the last thirty day we saw that two guys chase down and murder a guy because....?

Cops did nothing for two months until the video came out.

Cops killed an EMT in her house and arrested her boyfriend for shooting at home invaders who broke in their door.

Take your cops are do8ng a good job when that’s the only shut that makes the news.
Trumpntold cops to not be too nice when they’re arresting PoC.

Not much has changed since I contracted with NYPD.

“Fucking animals... how can they live like this?”

You wanna get rid of “the bad apples” change the whole culture because it isn’t the good cops who don’t abuse their authority it’s they won’t stop their brothers.

Oh bullshit.

Arrest the guy the same day you fire his ass,

After all they were ARRESTING Floyd for ALLEGEDLY passing a bogus bill.

Think they worried about making it stick.
