After that, for the 3 remaining titles there is no doubt it was Magic's team.

There is no need to make this distinction

Except that it was abundantly true.

Geez, I didn't realize that Tyreke Evans was kicked out of the NBA for 2 years for drug policy violation.  So missing his age 30 & 31 seasons.

Averaged 15 and nearly 5/5 for his career.  But never put it together and his teams didn't win much.  Lats two years before his dismissal signed for 1 year contracts with Memf and Indy.  Wonder if Reke will make it back ...

Trivia:
Prior to Reke, a dozen players have been suspended by the league for drugs.

The first two, Yes.

JEarl just seems like the kind of guy who would get caught with chemically altered blood in his veins.  Actually JEarl got a 5 game suspension for drugs.

I should have phrased it better:
Name the 12 other players (besides Tyreke) who have been dismissed & disqualified from the league due to drug violations. That is, they got banned from the league due to drug violations and had to reapply for reinstatement.

Before, Reke the most recent was a similar player in 2016 got booted out for 2 years and hasn't returned.

Hint: mid-80's Rockets had 3 guys kicked out for cocaine.

Those 3 I think were Lewis Lloyd, Mitchell Wiggins and John Lucas.

Add Roy Tarpley and Chris Washburn to your list.

Kyrie steering players away from Orlando re-start

Let's see how much pull he has.

TYREKE Evans

1. Michael Ray Richardson
2. Chris "Birdman" Andersen

Yankguy nails 5 of 'em:
3. Lewis Lloyd
4. Mitchell Wiggins
5. John Lucas
6. Roy Tarpley x 2
7. Chris Washburn
8.
9.
10.
11.

My mistake, only 11 players besides Reke Evans.  Tarpley counts twice, since he got banned from the NBA two separate times.  So 12 other disqualifications of 11 other players.

Tarpley the only player who got banned twice.  Was a pretty talented LMA type feller.  Washburn easy to forget about since his NBA career never got in gear.  Was a #3 pick.  I can't recall seeing him play.

Pretty sure Kemp and Vin had alcohol issues.  Why society acts as though minor usage of cocaine by wealthy folks who can afford is worse than alcoholism is hard to explain.

This article talks about players whose careers were ruined or derailed by drugs or alcohol, not the same as my question but an overlapping topic.  Keon Clark said he wasn't sober for one game.  He also became a big marijuana advocate.

Of the 4 remaining guys, three are not easy to guess.  I recall being intrigued by the one guy as his career started and then boom! next thing he was out of the league due to cocaine.  But the guy who was banned in 2016 had a reasonably solid 10 year career, though considered a disappointment since he came into the league with a whole lot of hype.

Here's a hint.
One guy who was banned is Derek Fisher's older brother.
Was a 2nd round pick, waived then signed 10 day contracts with the Nets.  Played 15 NBA games, was suspended the next 2 years, 2 more years in the CBA, and then had a 4 game cup of coffee with the Clips to end his career.
I basically barely remember the name.

Hint 2

Another guy was a large 7' C in the 90's mainly for the Clips.
Was a college teammate of Shaq's for one year.
Basically had two credible years to start his career.
Then had an achilles injury Y4, during which rehab he hung around with the Bloods and Crips.

8. Stanley Roberts.
Guy had some talent.  Larry Brown liked him.
Roberts kind of marched to his own drummer.
Apparently was generous, giving away most of his NBA money.
Supposedly while playing for LAC wound up with 7 people living in his mansion.  So finally he just let them stay and he moved to an apartment for some quiet.
Banned for meta-amphetamines.
