Re:  Indians

I flip on the game today - good expected duel - Canning vs Bieber

And some cat named ROSARIO muffs a 2-out fly ball to center allowing Ohtani and Trout to score - and messing with the Shaner's workload.

Hadnt heard AHMED was being used in the OF.  Big BOOOO from here.

----

And an incredible sight in the Cards - Mets tilt yesterday -Jordan Hicks hit 101 on the gun - wasnt hurt - but left after one batter

Why, you ask?

He threw EIGHTEEN strikes and just 4 balls.  But there were SIXTEEN foul balls - a 22 pitch at bat - and an eventual WALK to Luis Guillorme.

Incredible.  Mets dugout going nuts.  And Cards manager laughing under his mask as he went to get the ball.

(For the record, pitch 20 was a strike  - heh)

Laughing my ass off today - whoeverw as doing the Mets telecast opposite Darling and Hernandez - coming out with this doozy when discussing Rockies possibly dealing Trevor Story -

"well, after getting next to nothing for Arenado........."

Heh

Here are the 5 players - one a developed big league SP, 2 third rounders and a young possible replacment third sacker down the line

Well, our outfielders blow. Gimenez, Hernandez and Ramirez have the infield sewn up, so the more positions he can play the more his chances to play.

It was his first real game there.

Well, Ramirez was an MVP candidate at third and they aren't paying Hernandez to sit. And IIRC Gimenez beat out Rosario last year too. Why the surprise?

Centerfield is open, and it is supposedly the easiest OF position to learn, provided you can run. Seriously, the outfield is a dumpster fire. Take a good athlete and give him a shot.

Mets liked Ahmed's bat and needed a RH hitting OF.

Says all you need to know.

Hernandez came up to Philly as a CF.

And the Rosario-Gimenez combo at SS-2B already has many innings logged.

And whoever says playing CF is the easiest outfield position to learn to play, never played outfield, let alone CF.

Which is no surprise. Ignorance of the game runs is endemic to the Cleveland fan base.

Actually, he played over 200 games in the outfield in a 9 year MLB career. In addition to being a pretty successful manager everywhere he has been outside of time spent managing in an east coast shit hole with a drunken, violent, racist, Santa Claus hating fan base.

For the Indians, that is a lot of money.

Make your predictions for 2021 season, everyone. Season starts Thursday!

Here's something to prime the wheels of baseball cognition: https://www.mlb.com/news/bold-predictions-for-all-30-mlb-teams-for-2021-season

This I'd like to see: Cleveland Indians. At least three starters toss 200 innings.
