It is amusing how many who bristle like angry warthogs at any potential threat to their personal freedoms are so willing to take a freedom away from a woman, or greatly diminish it.  SSDD.

Even funnier, the conservative Christian people who are complaining about their religious freedom being trampled, are the same people who tell women: What, your belief is that a first trimester embryo is not a sentient human being???   Well, you must bow to MY RELIGIOUS BELIEF THAT IT IS!  My religion is better than yours!

She might be pretty smart but "hoisted" is not the word.

I would also change one letter in petards.

You probably should watch the movie again.  Sally Bowles did not know who the father was.
But she did know that Cliff could be the father and wanted to marry her and keep the child.
In the end the priority was her career.

Biden and the Southern Border.

The left leaning columnist for the Wall Street Journal, William Galston, has a blunt warning for President Biden and his handling of the leaky southern border that Americans are constantly complaining about.

In my judgment, it would be political malpractice for Mr. Biden to head into the general election with his current immigration stance, which is failing both substantively and in the court of public opinion.

When I get back from the shops, I'm going to Google:

"Legal cases in America where courts have ruled that pregnant women can't have abortions because the father wants the baby".

The Republican position is to wait for Democratic legislation so they can reject it out of hand? That means they do not want a solution they just want to bitch and moan about The Crisis on the Southern Border.
For the GOP immigration is merely a political cudgel for which to scare their White electorate about the Invasion of Brown hordes swarming across the border

The Second Amendment protects Americans who want to own firearms for self-defense, and lately millions more people have availed themselves of that right

Consider

Voters  with a firearm in the household is 52%, up from 46% in 2019 and 42% in 2013.
Numbers for the GOP  has risen 2 points over four years, compared with 8 points  for democrats

Twenty-four percent of black voters were in gun households in 2019. Today it is  41%, up 17 points.

Urban Crime out of control?

Educated guess.
