I have been looking at the old photos of America from the Great Depression, and I have been looking at photos from the poor parts of Kentucky where all of the children in school are barefoot, they could not even afford shoes for the children. America has changed, we are rich now, and we need to educate our people, we are far removed from having children in school without shoes, we have paid our dues as a nation, now we need to rise above the poverty of the past.
And right now we need school teachers, 25% of the adults in Kentucky cannot even read and write. And the fucking assholes who oppose a free education for all Americans just want them to be Welders, I actually heard Republicans say that an education is a waste of time and that people should just be Welders, the fucking assholes, what if it was their children? Or their own families? There is no justification for opposing the educating of the American people for the jobs of the 21st Century.
54% of the modern services economy is streaming services including movies and television shows, so Hollywood is going to do great in the modern economy. I am optimistic about a better future for Hollywood. We have some great acting and film schools locally, and some great studios, and Universal is doing great with the success of "Oppenheimer" and then the new "Star Wars" is going to be made here in Hollywood, good things can happen.
And the world wants to cure cancer, so we need scientists, etc. And we need doctors, and psychiatrists, etc.
Look at some of the old photos from the Great Depression, and from poor parts of the USA as our nation has grown. We are in a new prosperous time, the USA is wealthy now, and as the new immigrants do the essential labor then we need to educate the Americans to be doctors and scientists and entrepreneurs, and teachers, etc.
Also, the Americans need to learn how to hire the immigrants for Farm Jobs, etc. If an American wants to have an Avocado Farm then he needs to know how to work with the UFW to hire the Farm Workers and to plant the trees, and to grow the trees, and to pick the fruit, and to ship the fruit, and then the stores sell the fruit, etc. I studied "Small Business Management Consulting" in community college, and the class was all about going into poor neighborhoods and working together with the Small Business Administration to help poor people to open their own small business and to become successful. The Professor, Mr Berry, went into poor areas such as Compton, and he taught poor Black men how to get a loan from the SBA and open their own small business and to become successful, and then after they became successful then the whole group would take a trip to Africa together. So, we can help the poor White people in Kentucky, just the same way Mr Berry helped the Black men in Compton. We can go in and teach the poor White men in Kentucky how to prepare, and how to get a business loan from the SBA and how to become successful in business, etc, and then they can take a trip to Rome, Italy, together to celebrate, or whatever, Mr Berry took the guys from Compton to Africa, but they could go anywhere. Anyhow, Americans need to learn how to get a business loan and how to hire workers and how to succeed in America.
If your family has been in the USA for hundreds of years contributing to the success of America then we should not be competing with the immigrants for the jobs cleaning hotel rooms. The locals need to rise to higher levels on the ladder.
Biden is right that we need to educate our people, and we need to help the poor descendants of coal miners right along with everyone else, it is time for Kentucky to learn to read and write and to start rising.
Salute,
