Meantime: How about recognizing that humans cannot be trusted with anything more lethal than a pool noodle.

Most gun owners do so responsibly.

Like with cars.

Most car owners have insurance in case of accident caused by their autos, whether or not they are driving it at the time.

All publicly used autos are registered and the users licensed.

Manufacture of autos is heavily regulated for safety of the users and those around them.

So, sure, "like with cars" would be a good start.

Because it is hard for a driver to kill 19 elementary school children in a single drive.

Not impossible, just hard.

Being able to own a car is not a Constitutional right, like with owning a gun. Being able to own a gun is part of the foundation of our nation. Our Founding Fathers would not have ratified our Constitution without our Second Amendment.

Salute,

Nor would they have ratified in to permit semi-automatic rifles to be sold to 18 year olds in the current environment.

And had it dawned on them that cars would exist, who is to say what they would have come up with.

Remember, Tony, these are the folks who compromised on Blacks being 3/5ths of a person, etc. Abortion was not illegal to them, but freeing a slave was.

Try not to put them on too high a pedestal. They did great things, but they were not saints nor were they prescient.

All good.
"A gun".  Doesn't specify what type of gun. Handguns would cover it.
'Average Joe' in America does not need assault rifles...and could still protect himself/herself with handguns.

Arm the People...with handguns, all good. The new smart handguns that can only be fired by the owners, best idea.
Lock up the schools so armed psycho-crazy people can just waltz thru the front doors and kill everyone inside.

Kids love electronics...issue them and parents with electronic photo ID cards they have to swipe to enter the school...make it a game.
Front gate, enter card. Security guard/s on duty.
Second gate entry, body metal detector/bag searches by security guard/s.
Third stage entry, scan card at front door for entry.
Fire/emergency exits?  other doors can be opened wide from inside but not outside.

***

Witnesses;

"The police should've raided the school sooner".

#####

Oh dear.
Sue the police dept [if any fault is found with their actions, that cost lives of students and teachers.]

Biden to speak in Uvalde

I think the mayor might toss him out on his ass like he did Beto.

https://www.foxnews.com/live-news/uvalde-texas-school-shooting

Th mayor has his own problems such as how come his police force failed to move on the shooter for a fucking hour.

Yeah?

Then why did Congress outlaw the Thompson sub machine gun AND sawed off shotguns during the gangster age?

Why were assault weapons banned from 1994-2004?

Cars did not exist when the Constitution was ratified and neither did semi-automatic weapons with high capacity magazines.

Meanwhile we can build housing in Battle Mountain like in Santorini, Greece, we need to bring the island lifestyle to Battle Mountain. Just the same way that we brought Beverly Hills style cuisine to Battle Mountain.

House White Supremacist bill fails in Senate

GOP Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky criticized the domestic terrorism bill in a floor speech Thursday ahead of the vote.
Today we will have a bill before us ostensibly titled and ostensibly about the subject of domestic terrorism. But this bill would be more accurately called the Democrat plan to brand and insult our police and soldiers as White supremacists and neo Nazis  how insulting, he said.

Clean up your talk, Dems.  Clean up your acts.

You really hate that we have evidence that there is a strong white supremacist presence in the police, don't you?

What are the similarities between the killer Ramos and these 4 kids?

https://www.foxnews.com/us/texas-police-arrest-four-threats-school-donna

Were they also heavily bullied, for instance (no, I do not mean their race)?
