RIP Affirmative Action
Your time to go was overdue.

At least it did not have to be buried at a crossroads with a stake driven through its heart like the independent legislature theory. Back to hell with that fuel for fascist plots.

Ban the admission of legacy students and donor offspring. Student bodies will get much smarter and more diverse.

Best hope ATP is for colleges to ramp up outreach programs to low-income families, which remain disproportionately PoC and indigenous.  Without that outreach, low income enrollments tend to drop when AA systems are scrapped.
Best thing for Black students is to say fuck the Ivy League and apply to Hampton, Howard, Spellman and Morehouse etc.

Racism Over, White People Declare.

Well not even close.
Affirmative Action was designed as a reparation for the ugliness of discrimination.
It has warped into nothing more than a glorified DEI severely used to hold down Asian and Latino
Students.
So much so that schools are dropping SAT tests and turning their backs on Meritocracy.
Voters overwhelmingly oppose , no matter how they interpret the Constitution
Liberals oppose 60-40 while the numbers for Independents and the GOP are 70-80 per cent opposed.
.

Mediocre White people can relax.

Choosing students for college/university entry by the colour of their skin, their race, is indeed racist.
Everyone sits the exams for entry, those with the highest scores should get accepted.

Anything else could be called, well...you know.

If it ends up that most of the students accepted are of Asian descent ("Tiger mothers"/ coaching etc) then so be it.

As usual you have accepted the right wing white simplification of a complex issue and solution.

That is not how college admissions have ever worked. Nor should they. Standardized testing is ONE tool that can help predict success. And note that rich white affirmative action - donors, alums, those who can afford private prep services - is not aff3cted.

It is simple.
Very very simple.
Choosing by race is racist.

Speaking of college...

"If you wake up one morning and you find yourself in a society where 23 yr olds with 4-year college degrees and, like, initiative, who aren't smoking weed every day, ...can't make enough to buy a car, much less a home, much less get married, much less have children ...then why should you be surprised when half of them say they prefer socialism?      - Tucker Carlson

Indeed.
Mr Carlson sure is wise.

I am glad you are entertaining Bambu. It keeps him occupied so he does not try to harass the young Sheilas down at the bus stop. When he gets bored it is a bit of a blight on the neighborhood.

LOL

Never get bored, there is never enough time to watch everything on YouTube....in the newspapers and on TV.
Gotta love those who invented it all, and provide the content.

On YouTube today,
"Top 25 countries for atheists"... no 1 = China
no2 = Japan.

Yes, the world is majority atheist now...and the number of atheists increasing.
Some atheists, on their death beds, starting praying.

It's my belief that many atheists in America are not really atheists, but are lapsed-Christians....or have "Christian" beliefs but refuse to admit it because being atheist is very cool today.
