Man bites Cancel Culture

A Pennsylvania community reclaimed its local Indigenous history and a popular tribesman mascot of a populat school

It happened just months after five new school committee members won elections and ran on pro Native American platforms.

The Southern York County School District (SYCSD) school board voted 7to 2 on Thursday to allow Susquehannock High School to bring back its traditional Warriors logo.

This vote was the Lexington and Concord moment in the effort to defeat cancel culture, Native American activist and historian Andre Billeaudeuax told Fox News Digital, after lobbying on behalf of the traditional image that pays homage to the Indigenous Susquehannock people.

My 5pm news just now...report from America:

"Looks like it will be a rematch of Biden versus Trump at the next election".

"The surge for Trump seems to be getting bigger and stronger every day."

#####

Well there you go...could be another leftist govt being replaced, for the same reasons Trump was elected President the first time....to take the country back...from the brigades of "diversity, tolerance, multiculturalism, political correctness'...add "woke".  MAGA 2 if you like.

Sort of a tempest in teapot.  The image was never degrading in the first place, so tribal members made this clear and reason prevailed.

This doesn't really make the implied argument that all mascot/name removals are a form of cancellation.  Sometimes they are discarding a racist and/or degrading stereotype.  Sometimes they aren't.  You have to take each case on its own merits.  If Toledo had a team called the Toledo Jigaboos and the name was changed, would you be arguing  cancel culture?

Then why was it taken down  by board members who were voted out office?

Just today learned of the passing of P.D.Q. Bach.  A musical humorist without peer.  I had the privilege of attending two of his performances, and much joy at his clever compositions, cleverer wordplay, and stage antics.  Will be missed.  Throw the Yule log on Uncle John!

Cook got far worse than his statue, in the Kingdom of Hawaii.  You don't mess with the kahuna.

He started what is now modern Australia.
There is plenty of room, and attitude, for all citizens to share and celebrate modern Australia together, as one.
Words of the National anthem were changed 'recently' from "for we are YOUNG and free" to "for we are ONE and free" (Indigenous been here for 40,000 years).
Make any difference much?
No.
Many Indigenous, including sports stars, still won't embrace the national anthem.
26 Jan, tomorrow, the "Invasion Day" and "Day of Mourning" brigades will be marching thru the streets protesting...and attending dawn reflection/mourning services.
Not all are Indigenous.

Indigenous sporting stars etc should be reflecting on their healthy salaries and luxurious lifestyles that modern Australia provides.

The best thing to do is stop Americans from using it, buying it with their hard-earned money.
One way is to arrest the users.
Street hookers in Sydney were forced out of business, by arresting the users, identifying them from their csr number plates, and naming and shaming them.
No more customers, no more street hookers.

No more customers, no more drug dealers.

Lock up the users...not in prison, but in the country somewhere...green rolling lawns, bench seats, rooms not cells, medical facilities, good food etc...all behind prison style walls.
Don't wanna be locked up in the drug farm?
Then stay away from drug dealers.

It'd be worth a try.
Nice gardens, counselling.

Deej, I got a suggestion for you. Greg Abbott as Pontius Pilate in front of three crosses with women in distress held to the crosses by spools of razor wire.
