When government raises wages above what the market commands, employers will increase prices and reduce labor.

Trumps Dirty Dozen

The squeeze box drawing with TFG as street busker stood out, too.  Didn't even need the Who lyrics - the image was spot on.

RIP Bill Walton, noted Grateful Dead fan and iconic sports figure.  And chaser of unusual tangents while sportscasting.

Rest in pivot

Perfect!  Both physically and conversationally.

And when you look at Boris Diaw, what hes done to this franchise, hes changed everything. And as we celebrate his brilliance...and when you talk to Boris Diaw, what a classical human being he is...It was 201 years ago today...that Beethovens Symphony No. 3 in E flat, which escorted in the Age of Romanticism in music...And when I look at Boris Diaw, I think of Beethoven and the age of the Romantics. This guy has got it all.

 NB

Israel population is 73.6% Jewish. And 13.6% is Haredi, the ultra orthodox sect that is the main driver of the Bibi Far Right coalition.  So anti-Israel, atm, is mainly directed towards a minority that seeks to erase Palestinians and take their land for the Haredis that want a theocracy and are averaging 6-7 children per family.

Welcome.  The last half a million newbies here have been spambots, so this is refreshing.

Speaking of earworms, I spent a substantial portion of last week dealing with a company named Heart and Soul. So...

Huey Lewis or Hoagy Carmichael inspired?  Or neither, just a catchphrase to underscore diversity, perhaps.  Anyway  the Hoagy has the classic do wop progression, 1 6 4 5, which is pretty earwormy.  AKA  C Am F G to all those budding piano players.

Wombats seem to love doomscrolling.

A cross-Strait war would fuck the Chinese economy.   Xi isn't going to risk his hold on power with a gamble that could cost millions of his people their jobs.

Good summary of the current options.

Israel initially made tactical advances against Hamas after a devastating aerial bombardment paved the way for its ground troops. But those early gains have given way to a grinding struggle against an adaptable insurgency - and a growing feeling among many Israelis that their military faces only bad options, drawing comparisons with U.S. wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
