22 people have drowned in bambuworld in Dec.
The 'cruel sea', 'cruel floodwaters', 'cruel inland waterways' claim more lives.
Of particular concern is 'people aged over 45', according to authorities.

International Monetary Fund

Digital trade, from software sales to streaming movies, plays a bigger role than ever in the global economy. The value of global trade in digitally delivered products rose to $3.82 trillion last year, accounting for a record 54 percent share of services trade. With an 8.1 percent average annual growth rate for almost two decades, it has outpaced other categories like goods.

Yet with many developing countries struggling to fully participate in digital trade, now is the time for policy reforms that promote inclusion, starting with retaining the current tariff-free environment. Read the IMF Blog: https://bit.ly/48e0I33

----------

One idea for growth in Streaming Services would be for Universal Studios to buy Playboy Magazine and to bring back the Playboy Channel, along with hiring brilliant young people from National Lampoon to write for the magazine, etc.

Also, they can make Latino movies in Bogota, Colombia. And they can make movies and television shows in Ankara, Turkey, for release in the Arab world, etc.

The Dodgers Baseball Team now has the top 2 Japanese Baseball Players in the world, so the Dodger games are going to be broadcast in Japan now, and we can market American products to the Japanese with commercials during the Dodger games, etc.

And new studios are being built in Las Vegas to create content for streaming, etc. Vegas also has sports betting, etc.

The strikes are over in Hollywood, and lots of new content can be created for streaming, etc.

Salute,

Tony V.

[Australian]National Rugby League ['NRL'] ................[rugby League is already played in America, 'AMNRL', America played in the rugby league world cup], .......is going to play a double header blockbuster to start the Australian season... in Las Vegas! in early March 2024, televised to 90 million Americans, plus globally.
...including betting.

Brisbane Broncos V Sydney Roosters
Manly [Sydney] Sea Eagles V South Sydney Rabbitohs

Sydney Roosters play in red, white and blue. From Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, from Bondi, where the sun rises over the ocean and the Roosters crow.

17 players a side, 13 on the field at any one time, 4 on the bench, 8 interchanges allowed in the match, a player/s can be interchanged multiple times.

Think NFL, without helmets and pads, ball must always be passed backwards, can be kicked forward.
Drop the ball you lose possession.
When player is tackled he must rise to his feet immediately, place the ball on the ground then tap kick it back to his team., play continues for 6 tackles, then if still in possession that team has to hand the ball to the other team.

For a touchdown the ball must be 'forced' in the 'in-goal' area on the ground with hands or torso...for 4 points
A 'conversion' place kick can then be attempted to be kicked between the goalposts and over the crossbar, for 2 points. If the touchdown is scored near the sideline, then the conversion kick must be attempted from near the sideline etc.

Place kicks can be attempted if penalties are awarded...for 2 points.
Field goals, drop kicks, for 1 point can be attempted.

D telegraph;

Rise in anti-Semitism has Sydney Jewish residents scared to celebrate NYE

Jewish residents in Sydney's east say they are so concerned about being targeted in their own suburbs that they are avoiding going out to Bondi beach on New Year's Eve.

Some have told police and their local council they have felt "intimidated" in recent weeks by pro-Palestinian activists roaming their suburbs.

#####

It's a disgrace, but that's what Sydney and Australia have come to in 2003.

No guns allowed, so the Jewish folk are sitting ducks for intimidation, verbal abuse, and physical assault.
It's not only them, thugs are emboldened...as "everyone in the world is a lovely person" rules the wall-to-wall leftist landscape.
No one is safe.
No way I'd be going out on NYE anywhere.
I stopped going out on NYE 55 years ago...when I took then unmarried mrs bambu to the movies at Manly, Sydney seaside suburb...only to return to my car to find a large dent in the roof, filled up with sand, with a brick on top.
4.40pm NYE here now. My car is locked away in the garage, and team bambu [man, woman and pooch] are locked away in their villa...out of harm's way.
The 9pm and midnight fireworks on Sydney Harbour are televised live. Most of the vantage points are already full.

It is good for public relations to have the Australian Rugby in Vegas, that is good.

And the Jews and Italians work together in New York and in Las Vegas, the Jews understand Business and have the money while the Italians provide muscle and labor, etc. That is how the USA was built, a lot of the USA was built by Jews and Italians.

I wish you all a great New Year. When I was a little kid my Mother always made New Year's Eve fun, she is a good person who tries to make the most of things and she tries to make life fun, and on New Year's Eve we would stay awake until Midnight and then we would bang pots and pans at Midnight to drive away the old year and to welcome the new year. But, as an adult New Year's Eve is not as fun. A local restaurant is having a steak and lobster feast for the local people in Anaheim, Chef Bruno is serving filet mignon and lobster to 500 people, I wish I had a date and could go, but I am poor, and I do not have a woman to go out to dinner with. Life is better when you are rich, the rich people in Anaheim are going to be dining with Chef Bruno for New Year's Eve.

Salute,

Tony V.

Something funny about this paragraph from CNN describing effects of today's earthquake...

One video filmed in the city of Noto showed crates of eggplants spilled across the road. Parts of the street were flooded in shallow water, where fences, roofs and small shrubs had fallen down...

Eggplants, shrubs.....roofs.  One of those seems orders of magnitude more significant.

106 years ago - December 12, 1917 - the first group of boys arrived at Father Flanagans new childrens home. Father Flanagan had decided to leave his work helping homeless men to concentrate on boys no one else wanted. Borrowing $90, he rented an old boarding house in downtown Omaha, Nebraska. He encouraged the homeless boys, many of whom lived in junkyards and railroad yards, to come and begin a new life in his home. Father Flanagans Home for Boys was a place where children received love and guidance without corporal punishment or verbal abuse. Within two weeks, more than 75 boys representing many different races and religions lived there. From these humble beginnings, Father Flanagan went on to change the way children were treated around the world. 106 years later, his legacy lives on thanks to the support of our incredible donors.  #BoysTownSaves #savingchildrenhealingfamilies

---

Boy's Town is great, and we also have Father Boyle and Homeboy Industries, we can teach the people of El Salvador how to help their children so that the children do not become gang members or criminals. We can send Boy's Town and Homeboy Industries to teach the people in Latin America how to save the children from a life of crime.

Salute,

Tony V.

On my tv it was stated, backed up with video evidence...that Chicago is upset that a plane-load of undocumented immigrants from Texas arrived recently.

"Tow back the boats" is the only way to stop the flood of asylum seekers arriving at one's gates, islands, etc.

The coverage of the Japan earthquake reminded me of.Claud Cockburn's winning entry among The (London) Times staff to create the most boring headline: Small Earthquake in Chile, Not Many Dead.

Indeed, Mr Bolt.
One suspects that Mr. Bolt's real problem, and yours, is not the division of race and religion, but that his race and his religion no longer enjoy unquestioned dominance.
