A cardinal with a funny name, but a sharp understanding speaks out...

(quotation marks sprinkled all through this, were deleted)

Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the Latin patriarch of Jerusalem, published a letter to his diocese stating that his conscience and moral duty require him to condemn the Oct. 7 Hamas attack. With  the same conscience, he states with equal clarity that the cycle of violence has brought more than 5,000 deaths in Gaza.

The continuous bombing in Gaza will only cause more death and destruction and will only increase hatred and resentment. It will not solve any problem, he said, calling for an end to the war. It is only by ending decades of occupation and its tragic consequences, as well as giving a clear and secure national perspective to the Palestinian people that a serious peace process can begin.

Amen.

And I like his pepperoni colored hat.

When I traveled across the USA and back in 1991 then I noticed that all of the factories were boarded up, and in Saint Louis while having Bic Macs I asked Bruce Willis what everyone was doing for a living now that the factories were boarded up, and Bruce Willis told me that in many areas the only opportunities are with the United States Military. It is sad, the only jobs in some areas are to join the Military.

And the same is true in many areas, Colombia even had child soldiers when they were living like shit 30 years ago.

We need to provide peaceful opportunities for people instead of just having jobs as soldiers. And in Colombia we educate the children now, and the children go to school instead of working and instead of being soldiers, and we have created lots of new opportunities in Colombia with coffee, etc. World trade and education has helped Colombia a lot, and world trade and education can help people all around the world.

We also need to have Peace Corps offices all over the United States, the poor people in Saint Louis need to be able to join the Peace Corps. And we can send the Peace Corps to Colombia, etc.

And we need to build more schools and libraries, etc.

When the USA first started the first things we did was to create Harvard, and the Bank of New York, and the New York Stock Exchange, etc, and we have the Library of Congress, and we have Copyrights and Patents, etc. We need to get back to the basics, instead of turning all of our people into soldiers.

I support having a good defense, etc, but blessed are the Peacemakers, and we need to fully fund the Peace Corps, etc. The poor people need to have the option to join the Peace Corps.

I also support Habitat for Humanity for housing. And people can bring in the fun architects from Santorini, Greece, etc. And people need swimming pools and tennis courts.

P.S. - I encourage everyone to get out there on Greyhound Buses when you get the chance and see the USA, Greyhound stops at McDonald's restaurants all over the USA, and they stop at little cafes, etc. Greyhound is a great way to see the USA, and you can just enjoy the ride and let other people do the driving. Even Battle Mountain, Nevada, has a Greyhound station, if you visit Battle Mountain on Greyhound then you can stay at the Colt, they have an Inn and a Restaurant and a Casino, etc. Battle Mountain also has the Calico Club which is a legal bordello. Anyhow, Greyhound is a great way to see the USA.

Salute,

Tony V.

So enlighten us, scholar.  What DID Trump mean by if you don't like our religion...?   What religion is that, hmm?
I would assume Christianity.

whooosh.
Thenpick another one.
Islam.

The whole point is that pick one is what Americans can do freely.  Because there is no American "our religion."  Trump s thinly veiled suggestion of a Christian litmus test for immigrants runs contrary to both the First Amendment and the founding principles of a secular democracy.
If I were you I would not vote for him.
But the same founding principles and Constitution makes it impossible for any President to call for a national religion.
Try to distinguish between hubris and the law.

Trump says that if he becomes President he will remove the US from NATO.
No surprise, US can't keep paying for everything.
Time Europe spent more money on its own defences.

Given PM Albo's seeming reluctance to spend money on defence, especially with AUKUS, ANZUS could well become ANZ.
A frightening prospect.

Al least Albo won't be speaking in Congress, that's one good thing.

I support NATO, and I support the United Nations, and I support the Peace Corps, etc.

My hometown is building all of the fighter jets and bombers and satellites, etc. We built the Space Shuttles, which brought over $100 billion to the Antelope Valley.

They are all stupid, and we are selling all of our best stuff to the Arabs as well as to Israel. We are selling F-16 fighter planes to Saudi Arabia, and to Israel. And the stuff that they are buying is not as cool as the stuff that was around 50 years ago. We have planes from 50 years ago that are way faster than the new planes, that we can use for interceptors, for instance none of the new planes can out run an F-104 Starfighter, the Starfighter armed with Sidewinder missiles could catch any of the new fighter planes and shoot it down. So, we just need to upgrade and update and modify the F-104 Starfighters, we can vector the thrust to help them to steer better and to pull out of spins, and we can update everything, and an F-104 Starfighter can catch any new plane out there. So, we are selling the planes to everyone, to all sides, and we have planes from 50 years ago that are better than the new stuff.

I want peace, blessed are the Peacemakers. And war is all about money, and soldiers are just poor guys who needed a job, it is all sad. Certainly we need a good defense, but only for the most pure defense. We need peace if we can have peace.

We need to invite China to our parties, etc, and world trade and education are wonderful achievements. We can work together to cure Cancer, etc.

We need peace, and we need to stop Putin, Putin needs to be placed in Guantanamo Bay.

Tony V.

Bambu, during the Civil War in Nicaragua the United States supported both sides, and we sold weapons to both sides, it was all BULLSHIT. Jimmy Carter supported the Sandinistas, while Ronald Reagan supported the Contras, and meanwhile they sold cocaine on the streets of America to make money to fund the war in Nicaragua. They also sold weapons to Iran to support the Contras in Nicaragua. War is stupid, the rich people sell weapons to all sides while the poor people die. And the fuckers were so ignorant that they had to sell cocaine to make money to fund their war, the ignorant fuckers.

So, we have guys like George Orwell who wrote "Animal Farm" in 1945 about the fall of Russia to communism, Orwell was teaching people, and people can still learn from reading that book, we need to make the book available in Spanish to everyone in Latin America. And Libraries have power, and education has power.

And movies and television shows have power, and magazines like Playboy had power, etc. And if you can change how people think and feel then you can change how they behave.

Blessed are the teachers, and blessed are the peacemakers.
