I wondered how long in time it would be before 'Gallipoli' became a problem for Turkey, who was the enemy in WW1.

Seems that time is now.

I always wondered how come Aussie/NZ were/are allowed to honour their dead there, and have dawn services there... at all.

http://www.msn.com/en-au/news/australia/deeply-offensive-pm-hits-out-at-turkish-president-over-gallipoli-comments/ar-BBUYUpE?li=AAgfYrC&OCID=AVRES000

Prime Minister Scott Morrison says he will demand answers from the Turkish ambassador after the Turkish President invoked Gallipoli in connection with the Christchurch mosque massacres.

Turkish President has demanded that alleged Christchurch terrorist be executed.
'"the attempted invasion of Turkey in WW1 was anti-Islam oriented."

"The only reason - we're Muslim and they're Christian".

#####

Back we go to WW1.

As for the Shining City on the Hill, on top of exporting White Supremacy, the US, through Trump, is also now promoting the suppression of journalists/media and free speech in other countries:

https://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2019/03/19/trump-bolsonaro-fake-news-bts-nr-vpx.cnn/video/playlists/this-week-in-politics/

We should be so proud. Sure looks like Trump is.

Listening to the radio and reading the paper today...it seems to me that the Right downunder are still 'speaking'...they're just being a lot more careful with their choice of words. Getting video, tapes of interviews, and asking simple questions. No abusive language, no anger....

https://www.2gb.com/ben-fordham-finally-drags-the-truth-out-of-michael-daley/

[/b]Ben Fordham finally drags the truth out of Michael Daley[/b]

After relentless questioning and repeated attempts to dodge the issue, Michael Daley has finally admitted he was wrong in claiming fire sprinklers were ripped out of Allianz Stadium by the SCG Trust.

The Opposition Leader made the claims in an explosive interview with Alan Jones and was later caught lying again about his comments.
Ben Fordham has repeatedly called Mr Daley out on his lies and offered him the opportunity to correct the record.
He finally agreed to an interview and, after persistent questioning, the alternate premier eventually gave in and conceded he was wrong.

#####

Mr Daley also said in the interview with no 1 radio host that if elected he was going to sack the SCG Trust board members and replace them with [I think I heard him say elsewhere] "50%women".
Last night's tv news said that he has already received 'a legal letter' from one board member.

kiidcarter8 is hopeless.  He can't defend his bad position, so he pretends he isn't.  But repeating a position over and over while ignoring contrary evidence is arguing.  The only kind he knows, in fact.

Not the first time I've genuinely lamented the inability of the conservative side here to actually defend their position.  bambu is garbage, kiidcarter8 out of his depth (even here) and REDSTATEWARD gets lost when forced to stray from the path the Wall Street Journal Editorial Page laid out for him.

If an argument has merit, give us the facts that support it!  Otherwise, why do you think your ramblings should have value to anyone else?

Bambu, CarterKid and JimboRedNutState are the theee stooges of Elba who are here just because
They have no better entertainment options than this: playing stupid on a internet Forum.
They are not here to discuss politics and be persuaded about anything.  They are just here to play stupid and, in Jimbo's words "just to get a reaction or rise out of someone."
Of the three, JumboNit is the most pathetic.  Boozo is the most useless. And CarteKid is just passing time until pro football returns and he can return to his prime interest - picking games and trying to convince Banks how he, carterKid, is the greatest handicapper since Jimmie the Greek.
The kid is kidding, Boozo is just a clown from down underwear, and JumbiNut is a pathetic plagiariser who hasn't had a thought of his own since he can't remember when.

My advice: don't throw peanuts to the peanut gallery Three.

Hang on a minute, that's not true.
I have plenty of entertainment options.
What I write here I am very serious about.
Playing stupid on an internet forum?...oh please.  I am 'stupid'...when compared to real rocket scientists. 'Stupid' academically that is.

Not here to discuss politics and be persuaded?
Gee, I thought anything to do with Trump is politics...and most of what I post is indeed 'political'.
Be persuaded?  I was persuaded that Abe Lincoln was a good guy and not a bad guy like the YouTube video said.
I have to be persuaded to your ideas/beliefs?  Where does it say that in the forum rules?

Here's one for you;

'Wisdom is not limited to the world of academia".

Toby Keith? What, no Ted Nugent lyrics? I’m disappointed in you, you hardly human excuse for a shit stain.

The chief AQ terrorist got his head blown off.
Can't be "Extremist right-wing views", because Obama ordered the hit.

You really need to move around America some more, bypass the schools and universities, and go to the 4 corners and the middle, and ask Americans in malls, bars, their homes etc what they think of Toby Keith's song and America's response to the 9/11 attacks.

FYI;  While our navy and troops were overseas fighting AQ, Taliban etc, and policing the waterways...and if there was an American warship docked in Sydney, or an Australian ship leaving Sydney for the warzone, my no 1 morning radio host used to play Toby's song...his listeners got rather upset if he stopped playing it.
The captain of one US ship used to email him requesting it..."Play it again, Ray!"

9/11...when 'Muslims' hijacked planes in the United States of America and flew them into towers, killing thousands of innocent people...some having to jump from the towers or be burnt to death...others trapped in their offices unable to get out; and knowing their fate said goodbye to their loved ones forever by telephone...and little kiddies still at kindergarten/daycare well after 'closing time' as their parent/s were dead.
And as New York City was burning, Americans were driving vehicles with signs on them that read 'NUKE EM'...is that "Extremist right-wing views"?

Since then, how many Iraqis and Afghanis are dead at our hands? A ton more than the number of Americans killed on 9/11.

A mighty sucker punch came flyin' in from somewhere in the back
Soon as we could see clearly
Through our big black eye
Man, we lit up your world
Like the fourth of July

Hey Uncle Sam, put your name at the top of his list
And the Statue of Liberty started shakin' her fist
And the eagle will fly man, it's gonna be hell
When you hear mother freedom start ringin' her bell
And it feels like the whole wide world is raining down on you
Brought to you courtesy of the red white and blue

Justice will be served and the battle will rage
This big dog will fight when you rattle his cage
And you'll be sorry that you messed with
The U.S. of A.
'Cause we'll put a boot in your ass
It's the American way

...is that "Extremist right-wing views"?

Yes. Both extremist and right wing. No nukes or guns for you as usual.

We'll get nukes somehow...either 'from' the US thru Anzus Alliance...if not from there, then 'from' Frenchie thru our security pact...if not from there, then 'from' Britain [it owes us], and if not 'from' there, 'from' our new good buddy India.
If not from any of those, then we'll make them ourselves...we have the uranium. How hard can it be...tip in some uranium, split a few atoms, mix up some of that plutonium stuff [probably can buy that on the black market], etc.
There's probably a recipe on the internet somewhere.

Trump angered at link to Christchurch attack, blames fake news

US President Donald Trump has once again expressed his anger at "fake news", this time hitting out at claims he is partially to blame for the Christchurch terror attacks.

Trump tweeted his response on Tuesday to media outlets referencing alleged shooter Brenton Tarrant's manifesto's comments linking him to white supremacy.

"The Fake News Media is working overtime to blame me for the horrible attack in New Zealand.
"They will have to work very hard to prove that one. So Ridiculous!"

#####

It is ridiculous...just as ridiculous as Chelsea Clinton's being blamed for the attack.

Maybe they don't like the President because he tossed political correctness in the trash.

After all, we only have the sworn confession of the shooter that he was inspired by President Trump.

Not to mention the other shooters I have already referenced.

Oddly enough, Bambi, not one of them has pointed a finger at Chelsea Clinton.

Muslim students did.

As a white Australian male who married into a devoted Muslim family I feel these similarities personally. I have friends and family who have experienced religious and racially motivated violence. I have friends and family who have publicly expressed extremist right-wing views, including hatred and fear of Muslims.

#####

And I had a friend who along with her girlfriends was blown up/burnt beyond recognition on a dance floor in Bali by 'Muslims'...while her husband and children were back at the hotel.
Small girls left without their mother, husband left without his wife.

"Extremist right-wing views"...baaah!
That includes, according to some people, the President of the United States of America's immigration and travel bans..."designed to keep America/ns safe".

Rep. Nunes is apparently more sensitive than he lets on. He's suing Twitter and some individual posters for $250 million. I don't think he will get it. Or anything else.

Opinions being silenced?

You get.to spew racist drivel. People get to point out your racism. It it the marketplace of ideas.

More like "the marketplace of ideas, with lawyers".

Anyway, people just left certain immigrant ethnic enclaves as soon as they could.
They left, more of the enclave's people moved in.
Like the American school cafeterias...the seating divided by race.

"We are one" has been replaced by "we are every person for themselves".

Prime Minister today will be announcing a reduction in the annual limit for immigration...from 190,000 to 160,000 [not including international students].
Too little, too late...too many people already, and not enough of just about everything.

The idea that Anning's deeply divisive and hate-promoting words, and mooshing an egg in someone's hair, are remotely on the same moral plane is ludicrous.

One may result in a five minute trip to the washroom, a few wet paper towels.

The other may result in the virulent spread of hatred and violence through a population of millions.

One was a bit childish, the other was a full frontal assault on the humanity of millions of people and a vile slur on the innocent victims of a mass murder.

You are really focusing on the wrong act of violence here, Dingo-dinner.

Senator Anning issued a statement after the terror attack the other day in NZ.
He put his name to it, so he owns it, and lives it...every word of it.

Part of his statement reads:

'I am utterly opposed to any form of violence within our community, and I totally condemn the actions of the gunman,' he said.

'However, whilst this kind of violent vigilantism can never be justified, what it highlights is the growing fear within our community, both in Australia and New Zealand, of the increasing Muslim presence.

Some people might agree with him, others might not.

Some people agreed with Stalin too. So what?

Anning should have the right to say what he did...in that statement.
Obviously he hasn't.
Of course he does. Was he thrown in jail?
Quote
Everyone else on the Right has been silenced, one way or another.

So we on the Right of centre learn the new rules....'be totally silent', 'say nothing'.
What you want is to silence the left, not speak your ideas. You want immunity from criticism of your ideas. You want to not be subject.to people expressing negative judgments about you based upon the ideas you Express. That is not going to happen. You are free to spew your racist bile. You are not immune from other people speaking their piece about you.

Totally not true.

The new rules in my land, I'm talking about.
'Everyone' Right of centre has been silenced.
Any speech about some people at all...has basically been silenced.
