I wonder how many Christians are so insecure in the faith that they require validation and well-wishes from the secular President of the United States. And feel that the failure of the President to extend the type of greeting that Red and the "Catholic Bishop of DC" (let's hope this one, at least, is a decent human being) apparently demand thereby constitutes an insult.

I walked thru the drug slums, read about the city's problems, saw its bridge collapse, heard about its generational racism from one of the guys in the drug slum video, ...how some people there "have nothing, and nothing to lose."

While it was a tad before my time, Royko used to frequent my Chicago haunt, the Old Town Ale House, where he famously brought in some friends of his for a tasting test between foreign and domestic beers. The US didn't do very well.
