What if the finals end up being Rockets-Boston?

Or Warriors-Boston?

I think Boston loses to the Warriors but beats the Rockets.
2  Sports / Basketball / Re: Fuck Mike Woodson on: May 23, 2018, 10:44:57 PM
Mike Woodson to the Suns. He didn’t need to come back to NY. That said, good luck to him.

And good riddance.

He gets credit for a Knicks record that had way more to do with Jason Kidd, Kurt Thomas and Rasheed Wallace.

I thought he was a punk.

Can't remember the name of the PG, a Euro, whom he hung out to dry after blowing a game on the last possessions by not calling time or something.  I thought it was a gutless, craven move, and that was the end of my bromance with Woodson.

Wanted to finish what he started?

He was unimaginative and predictable.  Just as predictable as the triple teams Carmelo saw in the final five minutes of every damn game when the ball inevitably found its way into the post.  Everyone in the arena knew what was coming, including my grandmother, and she'd been dead for 50 years.

If we did the trade for Lowry back then ...

Woodson: Son, just give it to Melo.
Lowry: Can I go eat with Ray and get phat?

Spending one year in Barcelona should be an interesting experience. You may want to learn Catalan rather than Spanish. The “natives” want independence and the immigrants and their descendants, roughly a little more than half the population, want to remain in Spain. Of course there are exceptions on both sides. It’s complicated.

I knew you and Chip are friends, and I enjoy your forum fights. Keep it up!  Grin

pretty soon i'll simply put myself on ignore which will satisfy most if not all of you.  ( i was thinking of you Stern and the fact you will need a different victim)

Well, I don’t know Chip like you do, but he doesn’t strike me as a bully looking for victims, just .... temperamental, and very funny and informed overall. Anyway, how about striking back if he attacks you?

Please don’t put yourself on ignore. There are not too many of us on this forum, and I enjoy reading your stuff. Oh, and best regards to Tyrone.

The Sacramento Kings who jumped up to the #2 pick... they won two fewer games than us.

When will the anti-tankers learn?

Most of them are incapable of learning.

Besides, the ones that matter are coaching the team, and they want to win ... unless management can convince them otherwise.
6  Sports / Basketball / Nagel on: May 17, 2018, 12:30:41 AM
Nagel, if you keep kiid on ignore I’ll have to quote him extensively. You know, I spread the word of Chico or, as Chip said, I do God’s work or, as he also put it, provide second hand smoke.

Besides, don’t put anyone on ignore. You’ll miss a lot of unintended funny shit. This quoted from Bank. I mean, you don’t need to take Chico seriously, or anyone else for that matter. He ain’t even the funniest one.

On LeBron, I don’t think he’s going anywhere if he wants to keep his legacy. He already has his rings. Cleveland is his town (near it anyway) and his team. It would be very unseemly if he bolts again.

another guy you might want  to consider is, if he becomes available, which I hope he doesn't, is Marcus Smart.

that fucking guy doesn't dazzle with stats, but he makes plays

I always wanted him. U think he may become available?

Don’t make me drool for nothing!

What a supreme ass-kicking effort in the 2nd half.

I want Luka Doncic AND I want Brad Stevens.
9  Sports / Basketball / Re: Knicks on: May 15, 2018, 09:18:16 PM

if we get 1...... LUKA

if we get 2...... DONCIC

if we get 3...... LUKA DONCIC

who ya like?

"Luka Doncic is the favorite to go No. 1 in the 2018 NBA Draft in June, and every team in Tuesday night’s lottery is eyeing him. The 19-year-old, 6’8 wing is a star overseas for Real Madrid, which is considered one of the best teams outside of the NBA.

Doncic is a do-it-all type of talent who’s been the future of European basketball for half a decade already. He’s a scorer, a floor general, a shooter, and a slasher. He’s a modern basketball dream, slightly oversized for his position with a high ceiling he’s pushed to a new level each year.

He’s a teenage talent already accustomed to playing at a star level against full-grown adults."

New York Knicks (No. 9)
"A Doncic-Frank Ntilikina-Kristaps Porzingis trio was the Euro dream Knicks fans not only wanted, but deserved. Things have been hellish in New York for two decades. Please give them a field of oversized international prodigies to take the league over. It’s only fair."

(Note: I KNOW WE WON'T GET DONCIC, but dreaming is cheap).

Game 1 winner is usually the Home team who had a better record and is favored.  Obviously winning G1 is an advantage (but so is winning G2).  Out of those 16 W's, how many were the Road team winning G1?  It makes G2 a must-win for HOU, then split in GS and things are on serve.

HOU wins G2 and then it's even, with GS having essentially home court ad.

Does that help?

Don’t know. Ask Chico.
11  Sports / Basketball / Chico and game 1 on: May 15, 2018, 01:06:31 PM
By the way, Game 1 winner takes it 80% of the time last ten years (16-4) in conference finals

Game 1 doesn't end or define a series.

Yup 1 game does not a series make.

So....... Bank and BoZ, you’re 80% wrong.

That's why I changed the text on the pic, though hard to read with this version of the forum that reduces size of images

PS: Leave it to Nagel to make a Dolan Joke.  Nice try.  Maybe you and Carlos should just rent a motel room.

Only if Tyrone is included  Grin

Nagel, you make too much sense.

The reporter has an agenda.

And what would that agenda be?
