I'm not saying team, I'm saying pretty goal

as for what Biz was talking about, Sneijder's sequence

and a blast from the past, my favorite in not the best of quality

Chip, you have to wait another month, when the next season trades can officially commence Hinrich is no longer a BYC player(I think I read July 15th but could be mistaken).

To be honest, I'd trade a bag of chips with a 4 yr salary for Curry.

If I could choose, yes, I'd move Curry asap before anyone else.

Eddy cost the franchise a lot on a promise of "tremendous upside potential". The reason to why he never achieved this is quite simple in my opinion. He's perhaps the nicest person on the roster but he doesn't have the drive and passion to become a better player. Surely he talks a nice talk but he just doesn't take his man's basket personally nor show any improvements in his weaknesses. Eddy doesn't have the spark, if he'd have Larry Johnson's drive/heart he could be an Allstar/HOF but he just doesn't.

Many don't agree with me here but I'm more then ready to cut our losses and move on. That's aside his weak rebounding, blocking, (off-season) conditioning, passing or his effectiveness off the ball on defense and offense which are enough reasons to move him.

I tend to recall a stat indicator of a championship team being the margin of victory. As in a team that would consistently "bring it" no matter who they were playing. So the balance between offense and defense.

as for my current ranking of draftees,

Rose, Beasley, Mayo, Bayless, Westbrook, Randolph, Gordon

I like Gallinari but I would not draft him because, if LeBron were to get here, what do you do with him?

The targeted fa's are LeBron, Dwyane and Bos(c)h. Next to LeBron, anyone but a sf, Next to Bosch, anyone as he'll either play pf or c, next to Dwyane, anyone

Only Gallinari would become a problem, Randolph can switch from sf to pf and vice versa.

As for you Winslow, perhaps you'd like this for a new avatar?
oh the suspense
It's not a secret we truly disagree on Lopez his potential but tell me this, do you see him as a fit in D'Antoni's regime? If so pass whatever you're smoking as it must be good.

soccer aside

Yes we truly need to trade Zach (and or Curry, Jared Jeffries, JC) but this whole discussion started because of the 6th pick included in the rumored philly trade, lets keep that in mind.

Especially since we do agree that even though we need to make a purge, we cannot pass on this shot at adding top-tier talent.

Even though the year was disastrous, we've had nibbles from Milwaukee (trade turned down buy Kohl, thankfully), Denver (trade messed up by Isiah, thankfully) and now Philly.

well Rem, all true enough

a) I do not view it as auditions but more as advertising our wares to help selling them

there is not one player whom I absolutely must keep on this roster, they have had their chance.

because of this

b) I would not add the 6th in any trade (unless it's for moving up), it's our best chance at adding an actual talented player that might be here a few yrs down the line

Lowry, really wanted Kyle Lowry

Well Bo, are our big time euros not good enough for you? Smiley The states should be happy with the increase in tourism but no...

As for Rondo, apparently he got some very very local assists (daily dime )

With Boston up 93-71 and 8:35 remaining, the Lakers decided to make one last push and trap the Celtics in the backcourt. Rajon Rondo saw the trap and lofted the ball over two defenders to Powe, who was a harmless 60 feet from the basket when he caught it. (Side note: In a brazen act of hometown scorekeeping, Rondo got an assist on this play. I've seen some dodgy assists handed out this year, but that one may take the cake.)

Powe began dribbling up court ... and dribbling ... and dribbling. Remember, rule No. 1 in basketball is simple: Stop the ball. But as Powe gained speed and crossed half court, it became apparent that nobody on the Lakers seemed interested in halting him. In fact, the middle of the defense opened like the Red Sea as the Lakers stayed glued to the other three Celtics.

Once Powe reached the Laker free-throw line, Pau Gasol finally made a halfhearted effort to close the gap. But by then it was too late. Powe went in for the easiest two of his 21 points, the crowd exploded, and the Lakers were cooked.

well if you want to talk paranoia, if I want to go to the united states next year, I'll probably will have to check in on a site 3 days before my flight leaves or be denied passage.

They already have my fingers scanned and a picture last time but this is getting absurd.

A pal of mines got deported out of FL, because after working their 5 months they discovered his social security number was incorrect. Now he only switched two numbers by accident and could prove this but nevertheless, back to the Netherlands.

Do you have an US passport Bo?

Still if the Knicks are semi-decent I'll go another weekend.

Bill Simmons on game 1

nice post chip, let's see what D'Antoni can do with this bunch. As has been proven by TomVerve, historically you need several top tier talent players to be a champion (excluding the pistons)

Lester, what? are you saying Washington's GM has no affiliation?

Anyway if I were Walsh I'd probably call Chris Wallace and McHale a lot..

you do know there's the salary cap and then there's the luxury tax cap but regardless
45  Sports / Basketball / Re: Knicks on: June 08, 2008, 08:55:42 AM
well nagel, the caproom is calculated, not the actual salaries owed. So the salaries you're owed + possible salaries owed restricted free agents + rest of the roster filled out with minimum contracts.
