Oh, and one other item you seem to be pretty naive about.  When the stock market goes up it lifts all ships because when investors make more money they pay more taxes.

Sure, such as billionaire Donald Trump kicking in $150 over the past decade.
You have seen his tax returns?

"There’s no reason why 91 Fortune 500 companies should be paying zero in taxes.”
- Joe Biden

Good to hear him say so, as companies rack up billion dollar profits and pay zero in taxes.  Should be a 15% minimum tax on profits.
Then Joe should go for it.  Betcha he won’t because he would never get it passed.

And btw, tax cut always always always result in less tax revenue.
That's of course what they are intended to do.
No, tax cuts stimulate the economy as we just witnessed during the Trump Presidency.

Not so much that progressives are on a flawed path, as that the Right has gained traction in social media distorting that progressive path and concocting boogeymen (like "defunding" and "no one can own a car" and "open borders and special payments to undocumenteds").
Those are the talking points made popular by the “ squad” and progressives, not the Right

What we need are real conversations where people don't try to score points by falsely characterizing policy positions.  To those who have no mental immune system, the social media disinformation is highly infectious.

And it feeds Culture War, when we need Culture Conversation.

Apparently you didn’t get the message sent at the polls.
“ socialism”, “ defund the police””, etc don’t cut it with moderate democrats who were recruited to run in 2018 to take back the House .  Now that majority has been cut back by voters who also turned thumbs down across the country on increased taxes, affirmative action, et al.
If you want a “ culture” conversation then it has to start with the dems.

There was never a case to roll out massive tax cuts.

The Trump goal was to goose the economy (at the cost of $1T in debt) to try to assure Trump's reelection.

The money could have been spent much wiser and better - say on education, insuring more Americans, infrastructure, affordable housing -- things that would actually bring a return on investment and improve the country.

In hindsight loading up an extra $1T in debt in order to boost the stock market was extremely ill-considered.  Is this even debatable?
Of course it is not debatable since you are living in a fictional world. No wonder you have decided to leave the room.
The tax cuts and regulation roll backs spurred the economy and put people to work.  Across the board unemployment numbers fell to record lows. Trump beat Obama/Hillary by winning over Obama democrats and they stayed with the GOP last month.  In case you aren’t paying attention while  Trump lost the Presidency the GOP rode a blue wave almost everywhere else. Pelosi’ s prediction of a 12 seat gain in the House was a 9 seat LOSS.
The GOP outnumbers the dems in the Senate  for the fourth consecutive election.  At the State level republicans flipped three legislatures and now control 31.
Oh, and one other item you seem to be pretty naive about.  When the stock market goes up it lifts all ships because when investors make more money they pay more taxes.

How overly simplistic.  And still wrong.

Of course the Trump economy was almost exactly a continuation of the Obama economy.  Charts and graphs amply demonstrate that.

Trump's signature economic policy was huge tax cuts for the wealthy and companies.  Intended to juice the economy, it had very little effect except to raise stock prices, more wealth for the wealthy, partly through stock buybacks.  The intended investment surge simply never materialized.  $1T squandered that could have been used for pandemic relief (or infrastructure if the Virus never blew in)

But Geez, why am I arguing with Red's LOL and uninformed vagueness??
Because you are clueless.

Anyone who believes anything Paul Krugman says or writes needs a reality check.

Donald Trump on the other hand, now there's the font of wisdom and truth.

The KrugMan is usually brilliant.  But he has the annoying habit of backing up his opinions with facts and evidence.
LOL!

He's performed great services including: doing an excellent job of explaining basic macroeconomics to the masses, popularizing terms such as zombie ideas and liquidity traps, while calling out other economists who get things dramatically wrong time and again.  Great thinker, writer, economist and patriot.  No wonder Krug is the boogeyman to Redwart.

Ah, and I see that his latest column is talking about How Will Biden Deal With Republican Sabotage? which was exactly my last post.  Looking forward to a good read ...
Whatever Krugman has predicted for the economy has turned out to be just the opposite.
Obama’s was a dud,
Trump’s was a record breaking success.
If you are betting on a Biden Boom keep in mind Krugman is betting on it, too.
Buyer beware

Joe Manchin leads a bi partisan group of Senators poised to pass a $908 Billion dollar COVID-19  piece of Legislation that Trump will sign.
Over in the House Nancy Pelosi and her democrat losers will be debating legalizing pot and the ownership of Tigers.

Relief for COVID weary Americans versus cannabis and cats.

What a fucking joke.

So,
Biden now preaches against lockdowns and FOR opening schools.

Funny, Josh and Barton didn’t tell us the “ science” on these matters had changed.

It's like a glitchy AI generating random opinions from its failing circuitry.

Still,  a welcome shift from long-winded diatribes cut/paste from different WSJ and Washington Examiner articles.
LOL!
I understand Krugman is your hero.
Which says a lot about your credibility.

Irony in the extreme.
Ah, I see you have followed the lies of Krugman.

Red has made it clear that his belief that the well-being of people's stock portfolios is much more important than the well-being of people.
You might have to explain that one.
I bet you can’t.

So CNN had praise for Biden’s “ transparency” about his foot “ sprain” while playing with his dog.
Except that less than 2 days later we learned he suffered a bone fracture and has to wear a boot while recovering.

Even MSNBC found fault with what really turned out to be a “ lack of transparency”.  Andrea Mitchell pointedly remarked it shouldn’t have taken that long,
They weren’t as forthcoming as you would hope they would be with the press pool that’s supposed to cover him," the NBC News correspondent said.

Wow! If Biden can’t tell the truth about a foot fracture what’s he going to do when they ask about Hunter’s new job?
