GA Sect of State on CNN with Wolf reports that

Sen Lindsay Graham suggested and pressured him (a Repub) to find and throw-out legally cast (presumably mail-in) ballots.

Lindsay what do they have on you, other than you're a fucking fascist cocksucker?

the story

https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/526222-georgia-secretary-of-state-says-graham-other-republicans-have-pressured

Georgia's Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger said on Monday that Republican leaders, such as Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), have been putting pressure on him to exclude legal ballots in order for President Trump to be declared the winner and earn the state's 16 electoral votes.

In an interview with the Washington Post, Raffensperger said Graham asked him on Friday if he had the authority to toss out ballots in counties with a high rate of non-matching signatures. He also questioned if poll workers had accepted ballots with non-matching signatures due to political bias, according to Raffensperger.

Inflating a collapsed lung with a chest tube was the worst pain I ever endured.

Worse than this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18caPNisP2U

Or this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGgrijfopDc

How about this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CxiHMIM4NWI

I'm guessing this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uFwh0ruPl80

That rib hurt for a small time, but these pains last forever.

HEH

Those games were nothing on the pain level of that chest tube.

Nobody likes losing a game. They build character.

You should try a chest tube it'll broaden your perspective and open your eyes to a whole new level of pain.

As Nurse Ratched told me, "this might hurt a little"

fucking bitch gave me 1 shot of novocaine

and i heard her cackle.

This happened about 30 years ago, i still feel the pain.

it was unbeleivable,

And LSS, I had to go through it again. about 3 weeks later.

Quote
Brees suffered three fractured ribs on the right side of his chest last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He then suffered two more Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.

None of the injuries were known until he underwent X-rays on Monday.

One of the worst chapters in my life involved a cracked rib and a collapsed lung (Brees also has the collapsed lung) I incurred in a skiing accident.

Inflating a collapsed lung with a chest tube was the worst pain I ever endured.

The nurse in the small Vt hospital told me, "roll over on your side, grab the gurney rail, his might hurt a little".

then the fucking witch stabbed me in the chest.

Good luck Mr. Brees.

Biden silent on Saturday's DC violence

Discuss.

A million or more people will get infected this week, and thousands will die. Trump won't give access to the Biden transition team to ease the transition and promote our national security, and we have loser moron president fabricating false conspiracy theories in an attempt to thwart the will of Americans who voted him out of office.

Biden has more important stuff to do than comment on a few thousand incels who can't get laid on a saturday night.

I never understood why Red thought "LOL" was a compelling argument.

But it seems two letters and two fingers were the best his rehab therapists thought the poor boob could master.

So lets be kind-don't fuck around with Red's LOL.

Its probably his password, mother's maiden name, best friend's first name, name of his first school.

LOL

It was ugly and took rains of biblical proportions but

AWINZAWIN

Are the Pats rising or have they just been lucky?!

The ground and pound running game and strong D was the hoped for blend, in a post-Brady world. They got it tonight along with a monsoon and a trick TD pass, which  helped. But they played better and no turnovers in terrible conditions.

I remain skeptical that in today's NFL a team can win consistenly with about 125 passing yards.

Teams will stack the box. Not sure why Ravens didn't do a better job against the run.

I think the Pats handled the wet weather a lot better than the Ravens, particularly the Ravens center who probably cost the Ravens 30 yards with bad snaps and maybe the game.

AWINZAWIN

Harbaugh will have those recurring dreams of Jules to Amendola in his sleep tonight,

The thing about paying attention to THE hot topic of the day is that there is always new information coming out, whether from the pharmaceutical companies, our governments, our hospitals, or other countries.

And often, the new information from our federal government or state governments is damning. Like this:

https://www.beckershospitalreview.com/hospital-management-administration/white-house-covid-19-task-force-has-not-communicated-with-governors-in-weeks.html

The WH COVID-19 Task Force has not communicated with the governors in weeks.

Kid wants us to ignore this, wants this to not be discussed.

But it's critical that this crap happened and know that he would have been all over it under a Democratic Party member's administration. (So would I. But with the GOP, he wants hands off the topic.)

This is important.

Trump's abdication of responsibility in this crisis has been known for some time. He just didn't care. He did not see how covid could be turned from a national crisis to a personal victory. So he checked out instead.

Whether other public health officials have been put under a gag order to downplay the current virus surge publicly, or worse to make it a bigger crisis for an incoming Biden admin to deal with, by not cooperating and coordinating efforts, is only speculation.

But is it beyond anyone's imagination that the demented orange clown who found blame everywhere but his own inept handiling of this disease, will be mocking and blaming Biden in a couple of months as thousands of Americans die every week due to Trump's utter and complete failure to act like a competent leader. Trump will try and find peace by escaping the grim reality he created.

I am waiting for "can't get to a mailbox....."

heh       lol

I think there's always been a divide between the two major parties on personal responsibility.  Yes,  in an ideal society,  everyone takes the time to plan how to get their vote in and have all their Ts crossed.   And Dems have been more oriented towards marginally motivated voters,  and voters with crazy hours or physical issues.  I think honest people in both parties should  come together on this and push both responsibility AND ease of access.   Like Ben Sasse and Bernie Sanders form a subcommittee, lol.

I think there's a fair amount of bullshit propaganda about parties and personal responsibility.

Is a stay at home suburban mom more responsibile than a urban single mom who has to work? its possible June Cleaver might find it hard to vote if she had to work 8A-5PM, get home, put on a nice dress and pearls, make Ward his drink, put something together for dinner, and check on Wally and the Beaver's homework.

I think given the success and ease we seemed to have had with mail-in votes, under trying conditions, it might be hard to rescind it.

Why would you want to?

Unless you wanted to suppress the vote.

Yet despite a virus that has infected 10 million Americans and scared most sane people into modifying their behavior to stay alive, voter turnout (66%) was at levels not seen in over 100 years.

People on both sides, voted as their life depended on it.

They found the mail-box.

kid-What is it about expanding democracy and expanding voter participation that scares you?

I think for many people, for many reasons, work, health, childcare, bad weather, etc. it may be far easier to vote by mail than have to wait in a crowded line for several hours.

Right, mon

Didnt say anything about in person vs mail in.

(though NO - I dont like the "everyone gets a mail ballot" process)

Did anyone have trouble getting balllots to voters by 3rd week of October?

This should be rectified if so for '24

To quote the originsl question

Should we continue the practice of early and extended voting hours and mail-in voting to encourage people to vote?

Or once the threat of covid passes should we go back to the more traditional standard of:

The polls are open Tues Nov xx, 20XX from 7A-8pm (whatver) and mail-in and absentees voting wil only be granted for cause?

Whats the argument for making voting harder and less convenient?

The traditional @ polling station voting versus mail-in was explicitly stated in the question.

As far as I know, to date, voter fraud has shown to be non-existant.

Trump's own fact-finder could find no fraud in '16, and that effort to blame clinton's plurality was discredited and disbanded, and Trump has yet to show any evidence of fraud in 2020.

so what specific objections do you have for every registered voter to have the option to legally vote by mail?
