I think it reminded a lot of people of today's twisted and perverse Republican party.

Party

The show to date, is disturbing as hell in its portrayal of the cruelty and inhumanity, it probably makes Mike Pence hard, and Amy Coney Barrett giggle. but I digress.

Red's just up in arms that egg-head ivy educated Chinks and Jews will unduly influence voters in GA.

Red misses the good old days when Jews were slaughtered in the south helping to register voters and get out the vote.

Fuck Red-he's just a fucking ignorant racist fascist troll

I'm just referring to Fenway Park as its been called for years. And that phrase, , America's most beloved ballpark" is TMed.

But I find hyperbole when doled out with a teaspoon and not a shovel, is a fine rhetoric device.

In any case, I've no idea if you watched the show in question, or the specific episode, but as posted I found it evocative and provocative film-making.

I see Elba's village idiot is in full-blown troll mode.

He giggles as only a fool would, as about a million Amercians have been infected since election day.

And probably another million+ in the next week.

And when the village idiot isn't giggling like a moron, he lies.

I think he's afraid of the truth and doesn't know how to deal with it so he makes up his own fantasies.

And Juan Williams was right. He's one of the few honest voices at Fox.

Trump abdicated his responsibilites on one of the severest threats this country has faced.

He has put this country into grave danger on so many counts.

And the village idiot laughs.

2020 claims another

this fucking year

Paul Hornung, the "Golden Boy" who starred for Notre Dame in the 1950s and the Green Bay Packers in the 1960s, has died at age 84, the Louisville Sports Commission announced Friday.

The golden boy turned gambling boy

He was one of the NFL stars that brought the NFL into America's living rooms in the 60s.

RIP Mr Hornung

This eventually will be baseball related.

I started watching Handmaiden's Tale, (HT) a dystopian horror story a few weeks ago. And I finished season 1 (of 3) last week-end,

I watched S2 E1 last night. More on that in a second.

I suspect most know about HT, I knew of it very generally. but not the details. Briefly (so far) It portrays the US after a civil war where a militaristic authoritarian fanatic religious group takes over the US. But the plot focuses on the enslavement of fertile women to reproduce because of presumably the impact of STD, pollution or poor diet (added chemicals) on human's ability to reproduce. There's a shit-ton of infertility so only the powerful get an enslaved fertile woman to try and mate and reproduce and have a family with.

The show to date, is disturbing as hell in its portrayal of the cruelty and inhumanity, it probably makes Mike Pence hard, and Amy Coney Barrett giggle. but I digress.

So last night I need a break from Trump, will he or won't he, and I started season 2.

LSS, the opening scene as we soon discover takes place in Fenway Park, as symbolic of American sport as any i can readily think, and it transforms it into a torture chamber.

here's a youtube of the scene, its fucking grim. (the reveal comes about at 2:20)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxW1lRsiAww

Now I've experienced some torture watching games at Fenway, but not like this.

Watching Bucky Dent's wind-blown pop-up in '78 hurt, and watching Bob Gibson bringing his nasty self and crush an impossible dream in '67 stung, but Aunt Lydia is a whole different ballgame.

She can really bring it.

I imagine there were some interesting discussions among Sox ownership circles and maybe MLB and sponsors about using and portraying Fenway Park, America's most beloved ballpark, in such sadisitc cruel manner.

Fenway as the backdrop for a love story in Fever Pitch was cute, and it was mystical in Field of Dreams, and it played its part of the "Cathedral of Boston" in The Town,  and there are other examples, but its use in HT was a powerful and brutal use of imagery to drive home the perversions that society was going through.

I thought it really emotional and well done.

Thoughts or what are your favorites scenes using sports as a backdrop.

NL ROY wins after playing only 27 innings. Fuck this era of baseball and its dependency on analytics. Dopes.

2020*

this fucking year can't get over soon enough

*

2020 will be remembered for maybe 2 things

covid and its impact on our society

covid might have saved us at least in the short-term from a full-blown case of Donald Trump

we still got another 2 months on that one though.

The conspirators are trying to steal the election with baseless and false accusations.

If enough votes get tossed.

They wont toss them for no reason

Kid says "They want to toss them for no reason."

Trump is all about integrity!

There would be little surprise if a Georgia recount had Perdue at greater than 50%

It would be a huge surprise, as I beleive the Ga recount only applies to the Presidential vote.

And by my back of the envelope calculations he would have to find about 14,200 additional votes to get over 50% and we are told recounts usually generate just a tiny handful of votes.

But what evidence have you, or what statistical analysis, or election handicapping are you relying upon to beleive that Perdue is likely to escape a run-off by gaining those 14,200 votes?

Sen. Lisa Murkowski said President Donald Trump has the right to go to court if he believes there has been evidence of voter fraud. But the Alaska Republican said Thursday it’s important there be evidence to back the allegations and so far, she said, she hasn’t seen any.

Murkowski, in an interview with The Associated Press, said it's not up to her or Congress to sort that out. It's up to the courts, she said.

If it were to be shown in states where Trump has mounted legal challenges that some ballots were improperly cast, “the question certainly appears right now whether it's enough to invalidate enough to erase what has clearly been a Biden victory.”

“There comes a point, when you look at the litigation that is moving forward and realize that it will be to no gain in terms of changing the outcome of the election,” she said. “Having said that, again, I repeat, we all want to know that there is integrity within our voting systems."

The probability of the election result indicating a false result, where Biden beat Trump by some 5 million votes and decisively in the Electoral College, is probably well outside the margin of error. Its a faulty conclusion based on observable data.

The probablity that Trump, absent any evidence of election fraud, is fabricating false allegations to undermine those accurate election results, and undermining our democracy is almost a 100% certainty.

Trump and his shrinking band of cowardly conspirators are the only dark shadow on the integrity of the decision of almost 150 million American voters.

The American voters spoke loudly and clearly.

They are not the conspirators.

The conspirators are trying to steal the election with baseless and false accusations.

Its time for America to come back into the sunshine.

Well it seems to me that they did claim to know everything about it. It, and everything else, including climate change.

Biden promised to follow the facts, listen to the science and scientists, and provide leadership.

in January 2020 Trump listened and learned BUT LIED to the American people about covid.

His lack of leadership has resulted in over 10 million Americans getting infected and close to 250,000 dead.

He did not provide leadership he hid from it.

And the coward is hiding from it now.

He is emotionally sick and damaged.

What does Trump know now that he's keeping from Biden and us?

Only a fool would trust Trump's judgement or a traitor to this country.

Maybe the duo just not right for the job right now.

Funny how Biden and his folk have been all over the COVID issue, stating how they'd do things so differently

Yet now they are complaining about not being properly informed, about not being in the loop.

Kid-You're a fucking idiot.

There's nothing funny about the intentional sabotaging of the incoming administration by a petty and pouting fascist who was voted out of office, but isn't man enough to deal with the truth. So he acts like a spoiled child.

Nor is there anything funny how that petty pouting fascist is putting millions of Americans at risk every day.

But you're too stupid to understand that.

But as you don't function well in a world that needs information and reasoned analysis you are lost and easily manipulated.

JUST STOP

You have gone well beyond embarassing yourself.

covid's a fucking hoax and a political ploy

so there's minimal need for vaccine in red states

plus as we all know vaccines are hoaxes too.

so once we eliminate the conspiracy nuts and the paranoid (probably about 34% of the population) there should be enough to go around.

-healthcare workers
-first responders
-most vulnerable to the disease

youngest and healthiest are probably at the end of the line
