I also think Biden should nix the next two debates.

Agree or disagree, how will it be ok for Trump to do a TOWN HALL before the two week quarantine period is over?

I guess we have the answer on that.

And of course Trump refuses.  I think a combo of two things; he doesn't want to have his lunch handed to him again, and he knows his bluster and bullying won't play over camera vs. in-person.  If you have no clue what you are talking about, a lot harder to evade providing substance in your answer.

And how will this play politically for Trump when hundreds of millions of Americans have conducted their business and gone to school over Zoom and Teams over the last seven months, largely because of this man's incompetence and refusal to put the country over his reelection?  This guy can't do it for 90 minutes?

Pathetic.

Wish we had this brilliant live posting from kiidcarter8 during the Biden-Trump debate.

Guess misogyny is his comfort zone.

Trump was elected, in large part, because of his dedication to appointing jurists to the Federal Courts that follow his view of the Constitution. Elections matter.

And the term is four years.

Huh. Is that so?  Only for Republicans you mean?

DOJ caught altering evidence in Flynn case:

But kiidcarter8 and Trump think we should all be talking about Hillary Clinton and Hunter Biden.

Mike Pence does not want plexiglass barriers around him at the vice presidential debate against Kamala Harris, a top aide to the vice president told CNN, rebuffing an announcement from the Commission on Presidential debates that the dividers would be used to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
"We have yet to hear medical evidence what the plexiglass is for," Pence's chief of staff Marc Short told CNN.

Droplets, what droplets?

Remember, this is coming from the guy in charge of the US response to the virus.

Nearly half (46 percent) of voters in an Oct. 2-4 Morning Consult/Politico poll said the Senate should confirm Barrett — up 9 percentage points since President Donald Trump announced her nomination on Sept. 26 — as more voters say the chamber should consider her elevation to the high court as soon as possible, regardless of who wins next month’s election.

Many people like Originalism.   Simplistic ideas play well in Peoria.

Have to wonder why if McConnell’s “messaging” has been so successful and he has no concerns about the legitimacy of seating Trump’s SCOTUS pick after he loses in a landslide why then is he pushing so hard to get it done before the Nov vote.

Instead of, it should be noted, passing legislation to prevent the onset of economic recession.

Sure. Let's also allow them to debate Ivanka's deals with China. And Jared's dad in jail. And Eric's testimony earlier this week. And Donny's girlfriend's sexual abuse allegations, and...

Agreed.

I think if pressed to answer, Joe has a shitload of trouble on his hands

Shouldnt these debates be OPEN?  Or are we canning everything for Joe?

We find out soon enough.  Biden hasn't faced any sharks yet.

kiidcarter8 all for the spreading of Russian disinformation to voters. He knows it’s the only shot his man has left.

His man knows it too.

Huh!

Kid hasn't updated us with what the Rasmussen Report has to say.

https://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/elections/election_2020/white_house_watch_oct07

Biden takes 12 point lead.

And shockingly enough, RCP hasn't updated either that or the now days old Ipsos report in their averages. How peculiar.

Heh.

The important thing to understand is that National polling will soon be down to +4 Biden, and we all need to now speculate on why that will be.

Ok, to be fair kiidcarter8 could not have predicted the debate disaster (though really, was it that hard to see that coming...) or the guy catching COVID (though, again...) but I don't think polling turns as hard away from Trump as it did if things were trending well for him.  The sympathy vote could very well have been there if Trump hadn't already so badly handled COVID and if he hadn't so badly handled the aftermath of the positive test.  And now The Great Negotiator has completely shat the bed on stimulus talks.

Polling will probably contract again when the crazy news from the week settles down a bit, if it does.  But Trump's attempt to make this election about anything but COVID has failed, and that doesn't bode well for him.  If their best play is going back to Hillary's Russia Hoax (!) then they are sunk.

Russia has gotten stronger on Trump's watch.

As has China, North Korea, and every country run by an authoritarian who can now point to the US as justification for their behavior.

It is simply impossible to argue that this Administration has not made the world a substantially less free and more dangerous place.  And our "president" thinks he deserves a Nobel Peace Prize.

Have you missed that this president wants people to WORK?

THAT is the best relief.

You fundamentally misunderstand what the bill is about, saying work is the best relief when the relief bill would keep people in the airline industry, local government, and countless small businesses employed.

Grows tiresome explaining what economic stimulus does to Republicans/Trumpists all the time.  I think they are simply too stupid to get it.

Republicans hope to get to 54 senators so the vote is Mitt/Suzy/Lisa proofed

Been following close state races lately?

Report: Democrat Cal Cunningham Mistress Confirms Affair

RALEIGH, N.C.
A race in North Carolina critical to control of the U.S. Senate has been thrown into turmoil over allegations of personal misconduct by Democrat Cal Cunningham, a married man who had an extramarital relationship with a consultant.
Previously undisclosed text messages obtained by The Associated Press and additional interviews show that the relationship extended beyond suggestive texts to an intimate encounter as recently as July.
Republicans hold a 53-47 majority in the Senate, and the contest between Cunningham and Republican Sen. Thom Tillis has been among the most watched in the country, with polls showing a tight race and both parties investing heavily in the outcome.

Always a good sign for down-ballot races when a Senator from his party can not say they are proud of their support of the incumbent President:

Not a good sign for the top of the ballot either, of course.

And then there is this:
