The first is our plan’s environmental ambition. It calls for a carbon fee starting at $40 a ton and increasing annually at 5% above inflation. According to modeling by the research group Resources for the Future, if implemented in 2021 the plan would achieve 50% U.S. CO2 reduction by 2035, as compared with 2005 levels. It would also exceed the 2025 U.S. commitment under the Paris agreement by a wide margin.

A carbon tax now endorsed by the Wall Street Journal.

That’s really showing those dumb libs the right way to respond to climate change.

Farmer bailout, necessary due to self-imposed Trump policy, already twice as expensive as the auto bailout, and more to come:

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-09-19/farmers-say-trump-s-28-billion-bailout-isn-t-a-solution?utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=socialflow-organic&cmpid=socialflow-twitter-business&utm_content=business&utm_source=twitter

And yet strangely there has been no tea party like movement in response to this wild and obviously political government spending.

Huh.

Biden:  There's nothing (no there) there."

- when asked if he ever spoke to Hunter about his overseas business dealings.

I wonder if Trump ever talks with Eric or Jr about the overseas business dealings that profit him directly...

They disagree with Kid.

Based on his silence, so does Ward.

REDSTATEWARD just hasn’t gotten the spin from the WSJ editorial page yet. As soon as he does, he will know everything about the issue, and we will all be stupid for not agreeing with him.

So Trump gets the Russians to cyber-invade the US to help him get elected in '16

Now he wants the Ukranians to interfere and tamper with the '20 election to get him re-elected.

That's really troublesome, or should be to most normal Americans, as it seems there's nothing the traitor in the WH, won't do to promote his own self-interest.

Protect and defend the constitution seemed to have gotten lost in the Trump game of 3-card Donnie

but what I'm wondering now is what foregin power Trump is lining up to support his efforts in  '24.

Ukraine call 100% legit....."absolutely perfect".

So release the whistleblower complaint to congressional review , AS REQUIRED BY LAW, so that all can see how 100% legit it was.

A Trump appointee says the whistleblower complaint is of grace and immediate concern. Why is Trump not letting him do his job?

Trump's a fucking evil amoral traitor.

Not news.  None of this is.

We spent two years investigating his soliciting a foreign power to interfere in an election on his behalf, and he got by with a little help from obstruction.  So after getting away with it once, he sees no problem in doing it again.

His whole career has been pushing the limits of criminality, and just paying the fines when he goes too far.  He thinks he can do that as President of the United States.  Amazingly, Republicans do too.

kiidcarter8 is very concerned that his sources not have any bias, particularly suspect outfits like the New York Times or CNN.

Now we are of course being told "there is more to it"

Yeah, right.

Small potatoes.

Trump could be withholding military aid from an ally at war to get them to “investigate “ a political opponent. And using his power to get officials to cover it up.

No. There need not be more to it. If that isn’t impeachment worthy nothing is.

Nah

Just unpleasant

I think Dems have already shown they like more warmth/empathy in their chosen leader.

Not that this will help as much with independents in the general.

Do you have a political consultancy operation you use to sell this shit?

Because truly the stuff you are pulling from your ass is gold.

It's UKRAINE!!!!

That's a relief.

heh

C'mon, Maddow - make the best of this.....

Yeah. Whew. They were just using taxpayer funds to bribe a foreign government to harass a political opponent.

Let’s see those libs try to make a scandal out of this.

LOL.  Yes, "the left" is proposing eliminating the industry.
Nice admission of utter stupidity.

Please point to any serious proposal from "the Left" that we eliminate the use of concrete.  Thanks in advance.

Stopping the burning of fossil fuels to run this country only happens if innovation and alternatives take their place.

No shit.  And as I said, in many areas those innovations and alternatives exist.  It is Conservatives that are pushing back against the implementation of those innovations and alternatives.

Some of the questions also get different responses when the context is changed.   A majority favors higher taxes....on the extremely wealthy.   Or higher taxes....if the increase is offset by eliminating high insurance premiums.   That's why  differently phrased questions on a subject yield different answers.
You might want to take a refresher course in polling.

If you don't think a polling result can hinge on how the question is phrased then not only should you take a refresher course you should be banned from posting about polls.
The whole poll results were linked 320 pages. How many did you read?

Dude, I posted a link to the question as it was asked.  And I posted a response to the question.

Several, in fact.
No you didn’t.

Did you read all the pages?

Page 171.  Very/Somewhat likely to support:

Green New Deal:  65%
Medicare for all: 61%
Free College Tuition: 56%

Huh.  Not the impression the results to the aggregate question gives, is it, Sealion?

A team at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has developed a way to make cement without heating, potentially eliminating the carbon produced in the process.
Think about it. The manufacture of cement amounts to about 8 per cent of our total contribution of CO2 to the atmosphere.( without carbon to burn the needed furnaces don’t get to the required 1500 degrees Fahrenheit )

MIT research demonstrates how  best to fight Climate Change. Adaptation.
Of course this story has yet to attract any media attention.

http://www.globalconstructionreview.com/innovation/mit-scientists-demonstrate-carbon-free-method-maki/

They have also developed concrete that actually eats pollution.  Science is astounding, isn't it?  Next thing they will come up with is electric cars!....wait...

But who is going to get the concrete manufacturers to adopt a system they aren't used to and makes the concrete more expensive to produce, particularly when you consider the huge cost of fitting out the plants with entirely new equipment?

How is that any easier than, say, getting a coal plant to use scrubbers?
LOL
I manufacture cement.
The choice is
The elimination of the industry as proposed by the left.
Or.
A new technology?
Guess.

LOL.  Yes, "the left" is proposing eliminating the industry.

On any of these issues, energy production, transportation, oil extraction etc, there are cleaner and CO2 reduced options.  When "the Left" proposes those methods be mandated Conservatives block them.  See my example re: scrubbers, regulations which the Trump Administration has gutted.

So the question of "how best to fight Climate Change" is not a question of innovation.  Its a question of how you get those innovations to be adopted when "the Right" can't even compromise on their washing machines.

Nah.

Complete and utter ignorance is not cause to be banned on a topic.

Stick to "jury will disregard" or something.

I think we need a better way of keeping false and deceptive information from the ignorant and easily led.

Think about poor kiidcarter8.
