This would be another reason I am concerned:
https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2020-03-20/coronavirus-county-doctors-containment-testing?fbclid=IwAR39cGnXK3P6ipwQ7ag_1PsGxsxFBTij8ejZwkLGZLcfrkazAuT1u6zS2hs

The nation’s second-largest municipal health system has told its staff that it is essentially abandoning hope of containing the coronavirus outbreak and instructed doctors not to bother testing symptomatic patients if a positive result won’t change how they would be treated.

"Like a rocket ship..."

Trump confident economy will bounce back

So is Goldman-Sachs, in the release I posted a few days ago.

I am, too.

It will bounce back far more slowly if Trump keeps lying to the American public and if states continue to misbehave.

And it will need reason to bounce back in a way that is other than brief and inconsequential. Trump's bogus announcements about the China trade situation come to mind as the kind of short term bounce that comes from artificial methods vs. what we need.

The voting population will really appreciate the republican caucus downplaying the emergency until they could each personally sell off their stock.

Democrat leaders sold stock as well

Evidence?

Oh, wait - not from Kid. He likes his assertions as fact-free as possible.

This disease is effecting everyone, even the Royals.

May God be with Prince Albert of Monaco who has tested positive for the illness, and with everyone battling this illness.

And may God be with the doctors, nurses, and medical researchers.

Of note, we have some of the smartest people working on the space projects, maybe we can ask those scientists to focus on all of the aspects of the corona crisis, we can direct the world's smartest people to help on this crisis.

Salute,

Tony V.

For social distancing, they are going to put Prince Albert in a can.

Let me try to explain my thinking, Kid, for all that I share it with the Imperial College in the UK and a ton of US sources.

Have a look at this image. It comes from Worldometer, which is tracking global cases as well as providing individual  nation's statuses. (<https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/>)

Image is below, as an attachment.

Note that the rate of death reports is running at about the same pace as the rate of case reports and that both of them continue on at least a geometric, if not exponential growth rate.

Part of the problem that this country faces that make a joke of Dr. Oz's optimistic observations is shown in this article:
https://www.usatoday.com/story/travel/destinations/2020/03/19/spring-break-beaches-florida-look-packed-despite-coronavirus-spread/2873248001/

As one kid puts it, "If I get coronavirus, I get coronavirus. It's not going to stop me from partying!"

But what neither he nor the rest of the dimwits he's partying with have managed to figure out is that once they leave Spring Break, many of them will be carriers all over the country! And... OMG, Clearwater, FL in their inestimable wisdom said, "Okay, we'll close the beaches on Monday," after the Break week is over and they've gotten as much $$ as they can.

Until we take this seriously, which it sounds like you still don't, and act to prevent that bullshit, we're going to keep being in trouble. California will likely see their situation cease to deteriorate in the next couple weeks and start to improve, so long as they don't let the Spring Break jokers into their communities.

I expect Florida to have more cases and more deaths than California, ultimately, Kid, because of the differences in their handling the virus, despite CA's having twice as many people. I expect their deaths will be disproportionately higher, as well, because of the age difference. 14.1% of California are 60+. In Florida, it's 22.2 percent!

Do you have any basis for your beliefs other than Dr. Oz and President Trump?

And if you don't believe me about the true number of cases, NY just doubled its confirmed cases as a result of more testing.  One US health official said to multiply the official numbers by 5-10 times, which I thought was very conservative.  A health official in Ohio estimated there might be 50k cases in that state already!  I can source that info if anyone wants.  I think my 10x the official count estimation is likely too low, but at least gets you in the right ballpark.

Beieve YOU?   I live here.  And it doesnt take any special qualifications for the math efficiency of more tests = more positives.

I have no idea what you mean by 5x or 10x but the moderator thinks ten million US will die.

More testing giving more positives, but not more critical cases means lower mortality rates.

California's approach means lower case numbers and lower mortality rates.

Florida's approach til now and Texas' mean higher case numbers.

If we all did what California is doing, the "6-8 weeks" would be feasible, Kid. But we're not doing it and it won't start being that length of time until we do.

BTW, if the US is going to do the voluntary lockdown and isolation approach, it will be for a shorter duration if the measures are fairly strict and well-organized, and people comply.

How short - and how do you arrive at this conclusion?

Moderator still has 10 million US dying. Why shouldn't we believe him?

Not what moderator said.

By the way, Kid, for us to get to that 99.3% survival rate, if we had 0 more deaths, we would need 16,646 more cases to be new and then all survive. For every 7 deaths, we would need 1000 more cases beyond that 16k+ figure. So, 224 cases would mean 17,646 extras (a total of 32,000).

The president told the governors to get their own supplies, as our government wasn't there to do that.

Then he outbid them for the supplies they sought.

"The virus CAN be beaten - and it appears in some cases that is happening"

-  Tucker Carlson

Again, duh, Kid.

It doesn't have a 100% mortality rate or even a 40% mortality rate. The worst of the predictions runs about 10,000,000 dead. LOTS of people will have beaten it.

It's still not good and your pretending that it is is beyond stupid.
