~Archibald Cox, in a prepared statement, read the night of the Saturday Night Massacre, after his firing (preceded by the firing of Richardson and Ruckleshaus).

"Nope. Not as far as I'm concerned."
~Mitch McConnell, reflecting on Cox, the night before the votes to avoid witnesses or evidence and to acquit Donald J. Trump in his sham trial.

I don’t think these Senators understand what happens after they vote against witness and acquit Trump.

If only they were Larry B wise...

If only we all were.

Half that wise would do it, Kid. Let's not push for the impossible, okay?

I get that you don't think there will be negative repercussions. They're already happening.

Republicans want to cheat you out of your elections so they can go on to cheat you out of your land, your job, your money, and your freedom.

Yes.  This, exactly.

No redeeming value at all to close to half the population of our nation.

Geez, you are dense.

The GOP "leadership" wants that.

Dolts like you just support them for your own venal reasons.

---Private Jackson: Well, what I mean by that, sir, is... if you was to put me and this here sniper rifle anywhere up to and including one mile of Adolf Hitler with a clear line of sight, sir... pack your bags, fellas, war's over. Amen.---

quote from Private Ryan.

---There is nothing in international law that bans the use of remotely piloted aircraft for this purpose or that prohibits us from using lethal force against our enemies outside of an active battlefield, at least when the country involved consents or is unable or unwilling to take action against the threat."---[50

Executive Order 11905 (Ford) followed (and strengthened) by Executive Order 12036 (Carter). Then Executive Order 12333 (Reagan). While it was loosened, by some people's interpretations, to permit taking out an individual terrorist with a drone, it did not change the assassination aspect of things.

https://scholarship.law.cornell.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1289&context=cilj discuss it from an earlier time. Nothing from the government since then rebuts this.

But let me reiterate, since you chose to ignore it, we killed other people, Iraqis, at least one of whom was helping to fight ISIS. There was collateral damage, contrary to the claim above.

There are also 54 US soldiers with traumatic brain injury. There is also our cessation of focus on ISIS.

Plenty of collateral damage, so far. Likely more to come.

The last 3 states to ratify the ERA have sued to get it added by the Archivist.

Alan Dershowitz, a member of President Trump's legal team, cited Harvard Law Professor Nikolas Bowie as a scholar who supports the argument that abuse of power doesn't warrant impeachment. Bowie told CNN's Anderson Cooper and Jeffrey Toobin that Dershowitz is wrong.

Oops.

In contrast with Trump legal team, Justice Department lawyer says House can impeach over defied subpoenas

I know a lawyer who is likely to lose his job.

Quote
A Justice Department lawyer said Thursday in federal court that the House can impeach a president over ignored subpoenas, a noted contrast to what lawyers for President Donald Trump are arguing at his Senate impeachment trial this week.

Asked by a federal judge what the House can do to enforce its subpoenas, Justice Department lawyer James Burnham said without hesitation that the House can use its impeachment powers, among other options, like withholding appropriations.

Speaking of Trump, the military, and atrocities... he's preparing to roll back restrictions on the use of landmines.

I look forward to Kid, Luee, and Bambi explaining why this is somehow good for the US.

The country is so polarized some are outraged by the destruction of terror general and his aid with no collateral damage. What part of 'death to America" don't they understand?

What part of "assassination is illegal under US law" do you not understand?

What part of "there was no imminent threat" do you not understand?

What part of "there was collateral damage, both immediately and subsequently" are you failing to grasp? We KILLED a top general of our ALLY, not just Iran's general!

What part of "if we open up the Pandora's Box of assassination of foreign leaders and generals, then all of ours are suddenly vulnerable as are our citizens, who travel abroad far more abundently than theirs do" has escaped your attention?

This is not how we do business and if we start doing business that way it will cost us far more than it gains us.

I feel safer already.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/01/29/politics/us-border-wall-falls-over-high-winds/index.html?fbclid=IwAR3HeTnoTcjaF2Fw1GNYq3r9yjjWX9zKdSkP8-37W1gSsj6CFgNEI2aotjk

the sections that gave way had recently been set in a new concrete foundation in Calexico, California. The concrete had not yet cured, according to Pitones, and the wall panels were unable to withstand the windy conditions.

With no wall, you're actually in more danger.

Fences are better, let the air flow thru...and cameras can see what's going on on the Mexican side.

$11 Billion dollars
37 mph wind...

Suckers.

The concrete hadn't set.

For somebody who insists on not believing women when they say stuff, you sure grant a lot of credence in men when they make claims - at least, some men!
