News Item

The College Board on Wednesday released a revised version of an Advanced Placement African American studies course following criticism from Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), who refused to allow the program to run in Florida schools.

In a new framework for the course reviewed by The Hill, Black writers and scholars associated with critical race theory have been scrubbed from the curriculum, as have those who touch on the Black queer experience and Black feminism. Other topics, like Black Lives Matter, are now optional.

The Board also added Black conservatism as a potential research topic.

David Coleman, the head of the College Board, told The New York Times that these changes were not made to bow to political pressure.

At the College Board, we cannot look to statements of political leaders,Coleman said. The changes, he said, came from the input of professors and longstanding A.P. principles.
More Conservative Cancel Culture.
Cancel Culture?
No. Just politics.
DeSantis is the most popularly elected Governor in Florida history and his vision for Education in the state was hardly a secret. The College Board could hardly ignore that fact.  Elections have consequences.

It's a pilot program.  Nobody who developed it is upset.  60 schools to start - not so bad at all.

Dems are just acting butthurt because, well....it's  the black voter (loving) thing to do.  And anything anti-DeSantis will play well down the line.

We have a Hachimura?  I wasn't aware.

We do not have Hachimura. He was traded to the Lakers in return for Kendrick Nunn who you called filler

Right

We had no Hachimura type player to offer.  But thanks for chiming in, Chip's flunkie.

----

As for last night - nice win.  I have us finishing 19-12 last 31, for 46 wins.  No team likes playing us, when all is said and done.

Excuses seem to be being offered for the Black cops who killed Tyre Nichols, [who .....in that photo of him in the grey trousers, grey vest, long sleeve shirt and tie, ...except for his face of color .....looked like me in 1964 when I first started in the work force, except that my shirt was white and not pastel pink.]

Caste system?
Looks more like pure 'revenge' thuggery by angry cops...so angry they forgot about their body cameras.

Would such excuses be in any way accepted if the cops were White?

Havent been any excuses stated yet.

Likely not.  He is valuable to them right now

Of course, the point is not that Trump was "worse" than Biden, but that the conduct was qualitatively different in ways that impact criminal liability.

Such is the talking point

Love how they allowed Biden's people to sweep the home before it was run through by FBI. Or is that not right?
