Lance Thomas got the start for the Netizens.
Didn't score in 10 minutes.
Tyler Johnson started too and also missed all his FG's and fouled x5, but got assists and boards.

I like leVert, guy plays hard, terrific in the open floor, puts pressure on the D.

I guess nets v. Wiz is as bad as it gets in the bubble.

Maybe God wanted Jonathan Isaac to kneel after all.
He sure won't be standing any time soon.

Candace Owens and Blexit are the future.
BLEXIT is a beacon that will show African Americans young and old the right path to freedom. Freedom from all the things wrong with their lives today.

Yeah, black people should throw in their lot with the racists, then they'll be accepted  for sure ...

How it will get them freedom from racism, is still being worked out ...

“He’s  [Trump] been so attentive to the scientific literature and the details and the data,” Birx said. “I think his ability to analyze and integrate data that comes out of his long history in business has really been a real benefit during these discussions about medical issues.”

Dr. Birx interview with a Christian Broadcast Network March 20, 2020

I do recall her praising Trump at times.
But I figured if she needs to blow a little smoke up his ass to get him to attend to the genuine science, that's fine.  But her science seems to have been all wrong.
Perhaps she got too caught up in having the president's ear and having folks discuss her fashion choices.  But all she did was provide cover and bad advice to Trump.

Fauci has been better than Birx, but he initially lied to the American people about the need/utility of face masks.  Inexcusable and deadly.  Never advocated for a national plan, until he mentioned it finally a few days ago, in August.  Has been willing to contradict some extremely dumb Trump ideas, such as recommending an unproven malaria drug.  So another way of putting it is that Fauci was pretty useless and harmful for months and has improved.  He seems to know what needs to be done when it's way too late ...

And even Trump recognized how useless Redfield and Hahn were and sidelined them before they could stumble around too much, though they helped waste a crucial few weeks.

From that key Vanity Fair article:

Quote
Worried about the stock market and his reelection prospects, Trump also feared that more testing would only lead to higher case counts and more bad publicity. Meanwhile, Dr. Deborah Birx, the White House’s coronavirus response coordinator, was reportedly sharing models with senior staff that optimistically—and erroneously, it would turn out—predicted the virus would soon fade away.

And on Sunday:

Quote
Deborah Birx said Sunday that the COVID-19 outbreak is not under control in the U.S. because Americans "are on the move."

When asked about why the U.S. has not been able to stop the coronavirus spread, Birx said on CNN’s 'State of the Union" that she’s learned through studying epidemics that health officials need a "tailored" message "on the ground."

I felt she was useless all along.
But there's been talk that she had rather optimistic models she was showing Trump and other top officials.

Now she thinks mobility is causing transmissions.  If everybody were masked up and tried to keep distance things would be different.  No idea what she means by tailored messages.

Before I thought she was useless, but seems she was more harmful.

I don't think that magazine is an area you can control.
Sounded like a very minor distraction to me, so I skimmed the post, didn't follow the link, and am glad to say I barely caught what the issue is/was.

I also think trying to find hypocrisy or inconsistency is a losers game.
A little inconsistency or hypocritical thinking doesn't negate an argument.  A quest for purity and considering every case sounds more like law school than a useful way to live in the real world.

I just try to consume news and information that is important.  And avoid silly sideshows and minor incidents.

The NYC outbreak was preventable and unnecessary.  But all of this further spread is totally inexcusable.

Remember when Florida was in relatively good shape?
That's exactly when you order masks and lockdowns and reduce transmission to almost nothing.  Instead now Florida is close to passing CA for most cases.

An official in the UK was saying the choice might come down to pubs or schools.  That you're not going to be able to have both open.  Might not be able to have either in the US.  But basically that should be an easy choice.  Bars are ridiculously risky until you have virtually no transmission.

But then again, we have twits like this, taking to the airwaves and presenting their conspiracy theories:
https://www.cnn.com/2020/07/29/sport/michael-porter-jr-coronavirus-nba-basketball-spt-intl/

I wouldn't worry too much what one 22 year old NBA bench player thinks.
He managed one year of college as a student athlete.
I'm sure a lot of young people feel indestructible and have hormones telling them to socialize and seek sex partners.  And a lot are misinformed.

Meanwhile a little population control would be a good thing.  Though not by coronavirus death.  I keep worldometer open on my computer all day long.  And now and then I scroll down a few countries and try to guess the population (off the screen to the far right).  Nigeria has over 200M people.  Mexico 130M.  Philippines, Egypt and Vietnam around 100M.   India set to pass China any year now for most populous around 1.4B.  Bangladesh 145M.  Indonesia 273M.  Tanzania 60M.  Uganda 45M.  Afghanistan 40M.  Nepal 30M.
Some crazy numbers.

Spiders and insects -- just waiting for people to get off of their planet.*
But the human infestation is pretty tenacious.

Was good to see some NBA games.
The slogans on the back of the jerseys seemed a little silly (as did the virtual fans), but at least they let foreign players have messages in their native languages.

Utah looked pretty off. With Mitchell trying to force passes into Gobert among a crowd.  Seems Mitchell hasn't developed a kick out pass yet.  He's either shooting or dropping off to GoBear.   Utes sure could have used Bogdanovich.  Looked like zero chemistry between Mitchell and Conley.   They take turns doing the same thing.

Mud came in and immediately through a sloppy turnover.  Then got a steal off a drive and did a nice job of scoring on the ensuing fast break.  Took a 3 pointer that barely grazed the side of the rim.  Wound up with 6 FT's, 3 steals and 2 turns.
Can you trust him in the playoffs?

OKC looked good.  Shai twice drove and finished craftily under-around Gobert.
Nerlens had 4 blocks in 18 mins, including a pair of key blocks that stopped a Jazz attempted run.

Adams v. Gobear is one of the more fun C matchups.  Don't think they like each other.  Adams won this one.  But Utah just couldn't get the ball into Gobert's hands.  A number of times Rudy had Gallo defending him in transition, and posted up and didn't get the ball.

You do know you’re citing a misinformation site whose domain is registered in Sofia?

Sofia is pleasant.  Good restaurant/dining scene.
Though some of the roads near the airport are in bad shape.

Bulgaria currently in its 3rd week of anti-corruption protests.  Lotta corruption there.  Folks complain it's a mafia state.

Bulgaria has cheap house prices as nearly 1/3 of the population left to work in the EU.  It's a bit sad the way Bulgaria and to a lesser extent Romania emptied out.

Havlicek
Pippen
Worthy

I saw Hondo live a few times in his last two seasons.
He was supposed to be the greybeard but was still active and all over the place.
Age 36, averaged nearly 18 / 5 / 5 in 37 mins.
At 37: 16 / 4 / 4 in 34 mins, without missing a game.
Averaged nearly 80 games a season.

Besides all he did on the offensive end, Havlicek was 1st team All Defense 5 straight years, and before that 3 years 2nd team All Defense.

Just seeing the Win Share similarity scores on basketballref.com:
first 3 years of their careers Pip and Hondo were pretty even, next 3 years Pip had an advantage, 7th & 8th years even; while the next 8 years Hondo bested Pip.
Just one measure but it was handily right there.

Randle nearly averaged a 20 & 10.
And yet, had lots of turnovers, couldn't make 3's.  Poor defense.
Didn't make anyone better.
Would prefer to move on, but not many teams will want him.

Yes.  I hadn't heard of that occurring anywhere.
Is anywhere in America considering alternate day in-school/at home learning?

Quote
generally Japanese students attend class in person on alternating days, so that classrooms are only half full. Lunches are silent and socially distanced, and students undergo daily temperature checks.
