Trump did not overreact...but he's still being criticised.

No, he underreacted. Sometime tomorrow, we will equal and/or pass Sweden for number of deaths per capita. You think that's a good thing?!

You have 27 deaths per million.
We have 573 deaths per million, more than 20 times as many on a percentage basis. Out of countries with more than 100,000 residents, we have the 9th most in the world. Were it not for the complete incompetence of South American governments (and perhaps Mexico's, as well), within 2 weeks or so, we would be second highest after Belgium. Because of those to our south, we will be 6th or 7th. Oh, so much better.

That's out of more than 200. "We're number one!" So, maybe only number 7. So proud of President Trump and the job he is doing, in which he is said to have given up on trying to control it.

Your people who are angry with your PM and government have no fucking clue how lucky they have been.

Somebody else for Kid to disbelieve, since they are not the president or his stooges:
https://www.npr.org/2020/09/02/908715579/people-around-the-president-are-trying-to-stop-him-times-journalist-says

Quote
Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times reporter Michael Schmidt says one of the most unusual aspects of the White House administration is the existence of people who are trying to stop President Trump from acting in a way that could hurt the country or break the law.

"In our history as a country, we've largely focused on how our presidents use their power, how the people around them help them do that and what that says," Schmidt says. "In this instance of the Trump presidency, Trump's use of power is so unusual that we have a phenomenon here where the people around the president are trying to stop him."

A couple of those get used, but mostly not.

History does not repeat itself
But it often rhymes?

1990 DC Mayor Marion Barry on his Cocaine  arrest;

“ ...bitch set me up”!

2020 Nancy Pelosi on being taped in a closed SF Hair Salon wearing no mask;

...bitch set me up”!

Oddly enough, I haven't seen that quote, Ward. And you haven't provided a citation for it.

But honestly, I don't care - her "I didn't know the rules" was a far greater indictment of her than "bitch set me up" would be.

TOM SEAVER
RIP

https://www.northjersey.com/story/sports/mlb/mets/2020/09/02/tom-seaver-ny-mets-legend-dead-covid-dementia-complications/5699265002/

Tom Seaver, arguably the greatest New York Met ever, died early Monday at age 75, per multiple reports.

Tom Seaver died today. So terribly sad.

I'm sorry to hear it. He was brilliant.

Because he is a proven liar.

Who?  The guy on the plane?

You guys are a lame act - but it's touching how you band together.

No, fool. Trump, who made up the guy on the plane, same as he makes up "somebody said" or "the generals told me" or a host of other such things proven after the fact to have been inventions of a guy who lies so often that it is hard to keep track of them all.

We are, of course, "a lame act" because we won't take the word of a proven liar that this conversation ever happened.

NO PICTURES and NO CORROBORATING STORIES even after the news went public about it and the doubts about it, as well. Unless you are claiming that there were no other trump supporters on the flight or in the airport, where is the support for this claim?!

I don't give a fuck where it is developed. I just want it developed.

Just not soon.

You still refuse to get it.

I know how long a Phase 3 trial usually takes.

Today Dr. Fauci said what I have known all along: if the trial is getting overwhelmingly positive results, then to withhold it ceases to be ethical - you are not allowed to continue the trial, because to give placebos is to do injury.

But very very few trials ever go that way and betting on them to do so is... unwise. Letting a vaccine out before it is vetted is doing exactly what the anti-vaxxers fear.

And on the heels of the FDA prematurely (seemingly) endorsing the plasma treatment (which the head then backpedaled from very fast!), everything they do looks suspicious to honest brokers - I exclude you from that.

And since I predicted that we would get an announcement of a vaccine prior to the election before anybody was even discussing Phase 3 trials, I am more, not less skeptical. Same as the announcements about the Russian vaccine approvals - which less than shockingly did not mean they were ready. It meant they were ready for Phase 3 trials.

If Fauci is ready to stand by a vaccine release to the public, I will be ready to take it. If he is not, then not.

The order to be ready to distribute by October 1 ought to raise the hair on your arms. I get that it doesn't, but that it would if it had been Obama or Hillary or were to be Biden.

But you believe Trump's unsupported citing of a single anonymous report? Holy mother of Jesus just how gullible are you?

Why is it so hard for you to believe - even if it was exaggerated?

Because there is no visual evidence of it, Kid. In this day and age of ubiquitous video of Nancy Pelosi getting her hair done, NOBODY has presented a picture of this bunch of dark dressed men flying to go cause trouble.

Nor has anybody from the same flight(s) said "yeah, I was flying with them!"

Why is it so easy for you to believe?

It has certainly been a wild ride for them in the brief number of years since kneeling was a big deal.

I thought Ward's response to Goodell's apology ("What for?"), while idiotic, might be indicative of just what a difference the apology might not be. But to see the NFL follow that up with an announcement that they will be putting social justice messages in their endzones for games suggests that whether the owners buy into the messages, they have bought into the message that their players will rebel if the teams do not move forward.

So, the teams are acting.

And they are not alone.

That's the single strongest indictment of Rod Rosenstein that I have read. It explains why he, himself, was in no rush to fire Mueller.

It doesn't explain why Mueller did not scream bloody murder.

And yeah, that whole explains a ton.

http://today.yougov.com/topics/politics/survey-results/daily/2020/09/02/cacb4/2?utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=daily_agenda&utm_campaign=question_2

18% think violence will get better if trump is re-elected and 56% thinks that will make violence in the USA worse.

18% solid cultist crackhead is actually a low number in the typical public survey. It could be a sign the moron’s spell on lesser morons is wearing off.

Who knows, maybe even Kiid will snap out of it soon.

Don't get carried away, but it is an optimistic note to have read, thank you!

I'm not saying I like the guy. I'm saying why some like the guy. Some shit about him is real. Ain't nothing real about Joe. Hope I don't have to say I told you so.

Pretty ironic to say that nothing about Joe is real, but some shit about Trump is real, Lester.

About the only shit about Trump that is real is that he is a real conman.

Just out of the White House:

"Be ready to distribute a Covid 19 vaccine by Nov 1st"

As predicted in March.

Hope it'll be one developed in America.

I don't give a fuck where it is developed. I just want it developed.

And the fact that our dipshit of a president pulled out of the global effort is the height of short-sightedness.
