There was no appeasing anyone.  Strong, steady governing.

Appeasing is not at issue.

Strong, steady governing is singularly missing from the White House.

Your denial underscores it, rather than contradicting it. There is nothing strong or steady in telling the governors to be more aggressive or trying to undercut freedom of speech.

Those are the actions of a petty autocrat. Governor Baker hit it on the head.
