Graciously turning down an invitation does not appear to be a thing around here.

Bo, Mudiay is making 4.5 mil. Not enough to bring us under the cap or push us over the tax, but a bit more than 3 million.

In Helsinki, trump sounded like he’d just smoked a whole pack of yak dung cigarettes.

Bambu I would go to your hypothetical shindig for three reasons. First to find out from Mrs. Bambu what it’s like to live with such a narrow misinformed craven bigot and find out how you got that way, next to spit in Kid’s food, though in Jersey they call that flirting. Last to punch you in the face. So, yeah, I’m in. Where and when?

In the age of analytics, chemistry trades are much less common. Heat will probably keep (or be stuck with) Whiteside.

If I were a billionaire...I'd fly over and host y'all for the mother of all party months.
Every forumite and families would be invited.
Y'all would be staying in the best hotels if you wished.
The party could be at one place or at several of the best resorts.

Best food, best service, best drinks...no expense spared.

The conversations would be interesting! Cheesy

I cannot imagine voluntarily putting myself in the same room as you, Mr. Bambu, let alone leaving myself in some way in your debt.

But the Knicks would bite on that trade immediatey.  Whiteside making 24 and 27 million would be offset by not paying Noah's 18 and 19 as well as Lee's 12 and 12.

Fair enough.

Because Mudiay is not due 24 million in 2018 and 27 million in 2019.

And Kanter at PF is still a hilarious notion.

Muddy was what a $3M a year roll-of-the-mcDice.
And he's supposed to be a hard worker, good teammate type (with an unformed game and focus issues).

Agree with Chip that we don't want malcontent Whiteside, especially given our C situation.

Kanter certainly kant defend 4's, who are all stretchy these days.

If we were moving Noah and Kanter I'd consider Whitehead, but even then his $27M would be prohibitive.  That trade is a reasonable idea, I just wouldn't touch it.

Also, I don't think MIA would do it anyway.
They get journeyman vet SG Courtly and a broken down Noah in exchange for a guy who was a dominant C just a season back.

He was unusually aggressive in Summer League.  I guess the reason is because the Knicks told him to showcase himself for another team.

What we lose in talent we gain in good will.

TROY WILLIAMS.

Did not see that coming.

And Kam, I pondered your Noah & Lee for Whiteside deal, and decided it is pointless and counter-productive.

YOU, as someone who is not a Kanter fan, and who wishes to faze him out...how does it help us to have both Kanter AND Whiteside being fazed out simultaneously.

How does it help us to have two unhappy starting centers not getting starting center minutes (Whiteside's issue in Miami)?

How does it help us to have a highly paid malcontent on the bench, leeching minutes from both Kanter AND Robinson?

Okay, I don't believe our team's plan is to faze out Kanter, but rather to give him an opportunity to make a case for himself. long term.  If not, we move on.

Whiteside would impede that journey, first and foremost.

Second, he's an unhappy camper playing for the Heat and making $24 million this year and 27 million next year?  WAKE UP CALL, KAM.  You want THAT poisoning the locker room?  You who spoke out against Beasley based on him having a bad influence on Knox.

And, oh, if it doesn't work out, let's just stretch him?  More folly.

#1  It wasnt my trade.  It was kIDcaters trade.

#2 If you're all for "rolling the dice on mudiay" which you were... why not see if Whiteside can reshape his game?

#3 Noah and Lee need to go before we trade them for Zach Lavine and Doug McDermott.

(kidding on that last one, kinda)

Ah, so, Kiid's trade.  My bad.

Fair enough.

Because Mudiay is not due 24 million in 2018 and 27 million in 2019.

I never had Kanter at PF.  He played barely half the game at C last year anyway.  He can split minutes or sit. Get bought out after the All-Star break and hook up with someone else etc.  Don't be married to the idea that Kanter will be here all 82 @ 40 minutes a game.

We wouldn't turn down a trade that makes us better because Kanter is here.  That's ridiculous.

Now we can debate if the trade makes us better.  But we wouldn't NOT make the trade because of Enes fucking Kanter's feelings/minutes/etc.
