Quote
...there'd be little reason to even talk about AFC football.

4 of the last 5 NFL champs are AFC teams and 11 of the 17 winners of the SuperBowl this century are AFC teams.

Seeing that you don't talk about football unless your team manages a win, its a waste of time and not worth pursing, but here's a link to past SB winners.

Remember that poll back in January as to which team was the one that was most hated by NFL fans?

Reminder: http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/18587291/p/

"Tom Brady is the most popular quarterback among fans (22 percent), but he's also the least popular (24 percent)."

Yes - that was the discussion in which you tried to argue that the Pats fans don't travel well and I erroneously suggested that the Steelers fans don't travel well.

We were both very wrong.

Off topic, Josh.

I have no issue with Bennett or Lynch. They seem to have expressed themselves clearly.

But they are NOT the same as Kaepernick. There is a clear distinction to be made among them.

Consider what CK said, I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color. To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.

Fine. That seems to be a reasonable and nderstandable criticism within the context of many of the incidents that have caused the furor over policing in much of the country.

But this is what he did.

He wore this shirt:

So, he's against oppression, but he's supports it.

That kind of blatant inconsistency is exactly why many of us have trouble taking him seriously. He's either ignorant or dumb or both.

Talented athlete, though, if he was better at his position, he might be employed.

MIGHT.

I respect the right of Chick-Fil-A to be closed on Sundays - or any other time they wish. Or open. (Blue laws are dumb, except to Bambu and maybe Kid and Laughing Boy).

But... how does having a restaurant that is closed 7/8ths (or so) of the time benefit anybody?!

Well, it's hard to argue with their success:

The fried chicken chain generates more revenue per restaurant than any other fast food chain in the US, according to a new QSR report. Chick-fil-A's average sales per restaurant in 2014 were $3.1 million, according to the report.

Killing Americans only 6 days a week and then resting with the Lord to ask forgiveness on Sunday?

They'll be selling chicken sandwiches on non-Sundays to concerts, trade shows, tractor pulls etc. and one Thursday night football game.

Support for Bennett's next sit-out of the anthem.

And a General Manager regrets calling the protests divisive:
http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/08/18/john-lynch-regrets-calling-anthem-protests-divisive?cid=eref:nbcnews:text

This is not necessarily going to get Mr. Kaepernick a job - I think at this point it can be stubbornness more than either distraction or quality of his play.

I think at this point ownership is still afraid of the backlash from "fans."
