I am still skeptical that Jules can take a shot & will be till I see it.

Till I see him survive a preseason game or two I am only penciling Jules in with the lightest of pencils. Shoulders are tricky. Lack of action on extension seems to indicate that I am not the only one with concerns.

Ev can probably put together a couple of useful years in Europe.

I hope Skapintsev is coming to camp with us.

So far, not a peep out of the Knicks.

Meanwhile some online genius proposed the Knicks send Dadiet, Sims, and both the protected Detroit and Washington #1 picks to Utah for Kessler.

The mind recoils.

PS: Clint Capela will be an UFA in the summer of 2025.  As will Brook Lopez.

Sit tight.

My mind can handle a little recoil, so let me take a look at this scenario that so troubles you.

If we were willing to ship that load and if it tickled Ainge in his fancy, we would have these guys available

Walker Mitch
Randle Precious KBD
OG Hart
Bridges Dante Deuce
Brunson Payne Kolek

Toppin McCullar Hukporti

I think it is not much of a stretch that Kessler Walker with our recent level of coaching and training can reasonably approach the contribution we got from Hartenstein, at least defensively. And he does fine feeding on scraps.

If we are seeing Dadiet as a future power forward there is room for him to move forward and earn a role as all three guys currently at the position are in ending or nebulous contract states.

We have two years, all of the guaranteed time for Dadiet, of OG, Bridges, Hart and Donte at the wings, so if we see Dadiet as a future wing with however much potential he is expendable in the context of the Novacore -OG window in comparison with a piece that brings us a lot closer to our peak through positional value at the outset of our window.

It would be a case of absolutely doubling down on the strategy we have pursued since clearing money to sign Brunson. I think the unlikely timing of having so many guys on the same timeline with existing chemistry means we would regret not parting with some future talent to bring us back up to parameters at our thinnest position.

Clearly Kessler Walker is much better at doing the things we will ask centers to do than Sims is, at least on paper and on film so far.

Dadiet & Sims?

Sure.

Plus TWO #1s?

Criminal overpay.

Both are highly protected and will devolve into reasonably nice second rounders. Top 10 for Was, top 13 for Det this year.

It is steep, but I like what happens with this team when nobody has to play up a position.

is my understanding that the Knicks offered the two #1 picks and were rebuffed.

Now you're suggesting the equivalent of three #1 picks.

For what?

Seriously

I know we're just spitballin here, but a Donovan Mitchell price for a scrub?

Leon wouldn't budge for Ainge's bullshit before, nor will.he now.

Lots more viable options next summer.

PS: Have you forgotten about our 6'9" 2020 draft asset,  Matthias Lessort??  Leon is prudent and patient, and has worked out well for us.  Peace.
