“They’ve always said, ‘Play the guys that have earned it in practice.’ That was all before we traded for Enes Kanter, so that added another center,” said coach Jeff Hornacek, who spoke to Hernangomez early Thursday, telling him he needed to concentrate on defense.

he has been superb defending his chair.  no one has tried to sit in it once.

sort of acknowledging the Melo trade didn't make much sense . . .

It's obvious we're overloaded at Sf and C.

So I assume our braintrust will look to move some vets to clear the logjam.

So I'm preaching patience.

What I took from last night......

yeah - never look at just one game - as many Knicks looked better

KOQ is just winning minutes. as I have said

Porzingis into the ELITE scorers in the L.  Now for the 10+ boards a game....

Stanley Johnson is a real hawk on the D side.
Kennard can PLAY.
Tolliver was a real key last night - as many unsung players are on any given night in the league

I have liked Sessions so far

McDermott looked much much better on both ends.

A few better possessions and its a W - its the OFFENSE at this point.

Agree with everything but the last sentence.

Saw patches of SA-CHI.
Scrappy, sloppy, defensive.
Markkanen has a varied offensive game, but gets chumped on D.
Grant needs to slow down a bit.  He takes some wild finishes on drives.
Wasn't making his 3's.
Holiday was back to his pre-Knick days, where he looks good while missing all his shots.  He's not a starter.  And neither is Zipser, who looks uncertain.

DJ Murray looks good for SA.
Rudy Gay did well even at 2/3rds speed.

Watched a little of PHI getting blown out by TOR.
Simmons is an all-star in 2 years.
Fultz has made 4-8 FT's with an odd push shot off his palm, with a hitch.
Gad, someone needs to work with him on that ish.

Delon Wright continues to look interesting, but still a bit raw.
Good defender.
DeRozan got 16 FT's.

Good to see DMC back in form for the Nets.
He showed glimpses of his past last year.
36.5% on 3's @Home.  Two good months (Nov & Feb).

Hopefully he can stay healthy.
Almost a double-dub each of the first two games.
Ave: 13.5 / 8.5 / 2 ass / 1.5 steals after 2 games.

Entirely too early all-star predictions:

WEST
sCurry
Klay
Westbrook
Kawhi
Harden
Conley
PG13
KD
Dray
Blake
Brow
Gobert

EAST
Kyrie
Wall
Lowry
Beal
Kemba
Derozan
Giannis
Lebron
Love
Porzingis
Whiteside
Horford

It is really hard to come up with 12 all-stars in the East without giving serious consideration to part-timer Joel Embiid, rookie Ben Simmons, or Andre Drummond. The East had a talent deficit before Hayward and Isaiah were removed from consideration due to injury.

Earl Watson fired. PHX in full-on crisis mode.

Eric Bledsoe tweets „I don’t wanna be here” after the annihilation by 42 pts by the Clips.

Trade scenarios, anyone?  Do we have the assets to get Bledsoe?

So far for his career, Bled has missed half the season every other year.
Injuries have sort of sapped/capped his potential.
Besides, Suns don't want our vets, and Knix don't want to give up yute.
Don't see a match.

I doubt Willy/Baker/Lance gets it done.
They already have Len & TyC at C.
And the other two just backup role players.

Best I can do: Willy, Sessions, Lance & Courtly for Bledsoe & Len.
Unlikely they'd go for it.  Trading for older guys mostly.
But Courtly would give them a defensive backup SG.
A young Willy for an underachieving Len.
Lance the backup SF they need,
Sessions either the starting PG or backs up Ulis.

If they want Kanter instead of Willy, they could ditch Dudley on us.
Sessions and Kanter kant be traded until Dec 15.
Len would have to agree to be traded, but what would he have to lose (besides Bird rights).

Really PHX needs to get back a starting PG for Bledsoe.
Not sure how many teams in the market for a starting PG (NYK, IND, BKY ...)
Does any team have a young quality backup PG they could flip to PHX to get Bled as their backup vet PG?

MIN-OKC on League Pass now.
Two interesting teams I'm hoping to see a good deal of this season.

Fatty Felt just had 8 straight points (almost 10, but he blew a layup)

Looks like Murray played worse than Muddy.
Neither with a good stat line.

Murray a pup and not really ready yet.
I was surprised they waived Jameer.
I would have kept him as a vet safety valve and a mentor.

Forgot the Wolves exist. Either Butler for Conley or KAT for Towns. Man, forget trying to sort out the West, there's still guys like Jokic, Millsap, Gasol and Aldridge out there. Even Rubio is playing great and would be in were in the East.

Best game since opening night. Thrilling 4th Q for those who can rewatch on League Pass.
