Malik Monk has been killing it.  50/40/90 the past dozen games (Dec & Jan)
An erratic player I never cared for.  But right now his confidence is way up.  LeBJ has been finding him.  Been hitting big shots

Coach Cal was right  as was I

Well, it's been a dozen games.  Let's see how it goes.  Poor shot selection and weak D always kept him down.

A Very Bradley has been terrific.  Always liked his game, but he seemed to be lost the past few years.  Great to see him resurrected.  The only player who hunches more than ObiT.

Speaking of Toppings, his development was always going to be constrained by Randle.
ObiT has been pretty invisible lately.  And his 3's have been ugly.
Always thought it was a weird pick for NYK.

THT has been struggling.

LAL v MeMf.  7:40 of the 1Q.  Westbrook dribbles around and shoots a midrange airball.  Then lunges further into the backcourt trying to steal the initial pass.  Putting him way behind the action.  Griz have a 5-on-4 due to Rustbrook's ill-advised gamble.  Bane pops a 3 (while a completely unguarded Ja is about 6 feet away).  Trying to fix one mistake by making another.   Russ is a disaster.

Kept down?  All I see is progression from Monk

Age 19    PER of 10.3
Age 20                11.8
Age 21               12.6
Age 22               13.6
Age 23               14.3

34% / 33% / 28% = Monk's first three years 3Pt%.
Not exactly progress.  He was a poor shooting SG who offered nothing else and was a significant minus on D.  Which is why CHA gave up on him, and he only started 1 game there in 4 years.  And why Monk is currently on a 1 year minimum salary contract.

Still quite young at 23, and just looks mentally tougher/engaged than previously.
We'll see if he's figured things out, or it's just a hot streak, or contract year dedication.  But it sure is nice to play with LeBJ, who draws a crowd and hits guys with perfect passes when they are open.

Monk was the #11 pick in 2017.  3 picks after NYK swiped Franc and two picks after Dennis Smiff Jr.  Next 3 picks after Monk = Kennard, Donovan Mitchell, Bam (12-14).
Some good Bigs lower down: John Collins #19, Jar Allen #22, OG 23, Kuz 27.

Zach Collins was taken #10, just ahead of Monk.  He's close to returning for SAS after two years of injuries.  Spurs could use his size.

45 combined for the Wagner brothers in road win over Charlotte.  Magic with just their 8th win.   Are they a team on the rise?

ORL is still just fultzing around.

TyH goes into CV isolation and SacKings lose to HOU.
T Davis put up numbers.  Fox got tossed 4Q.
(Ed: Fox only managed 30 secs of 4Q ball before he clotheslined a guy on a fast break.
Sacto announcers cluelessly were sure it was just a common foul, ignoring the windup and taking the guy out of the air so he crashed on his hip and side.  Dangerous play.  Clearly en Flagrante
)

Word is that Kings and PHIlly have talked, but '6ers don't want Fox, so looking for a 3rd/4th team.  And PHI needs to find a return they can go forward with.  With tyH playing so well at PG, Fox definitely available.  But a rather sell low moment on both Simmons and Fox.

4-6 weeks on the shelf probably knock Durant out of the MVP race.
JOoker is putting up ridiculous numbers, keeping DEN above .500 while missing their 2nd and 3rd best players.  Joke with a 25 / 15 / 14 game v. UTA.
Trip-dub on B2B nights.  Not an easy feat.
Impressive to see a guy killing the other team at a slow tempo.

Kings-Bucks looked like a fun game

Bagley has had a nice little run

5 games
26 minutes per
35-61 FG
3-7 3-pt
7-9 FT
16 and 9 per outing

Full complement ATL stomped CHA, outscoring Horns every quarter.
(Bogdan x 2 was out and Hayward for CHA)
CHA shot 4-36 on 3's.  Starters 1-19.

I still expect ATL to rise, WAS to drop.  And CHA to slip but hang on to a play-in spot.
No idea if BOS can figue things out, but they should be Top 10.
I'm nearly sold on TOR as a 7-8 seed.

KNOX in rotation - 11 minutes,  2-6, 0-4,3 boards.  Work the process,  KK.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Knox get 12 mins a night and then get packaged with Gallo.

But Gallo makes a lot (just ~ $5M guaranteed next year) so it's hard to concoct a deal that works.  Easy to find players ATL could use: a Gary Harris or Jer Grant, but rebuilding teams such as ORL & DET don't want a vet shooter.  Ibaka, Covington, Dwight Powell would help too.  But it's tough to make salaries match.  DAL doesn't need a poor man's KZ.  Clips have adequate outside shooting.  Cov is an expiring as is.

Hard to get Gallo to a playoff team that needs extra shooting and has fairly solid D, especially cause of Gallo's price tag.

So ATL would have to take a longer contract back.
Maybe Clips want to save on Bledsoe, if PG and Kawhi are toast this season.
How about LaVert?  IND is something like 27th in 3 point shooting.
But with this season moribund, it'd just be ditching LAvert's $18M for next year.
Fultz, Bertans, Markk -- if any of those teams were having buyer's remorse.
But those seem like questionable gets for ATL (Markk, a maybe).
Dragic?  What's up with him and his large ending contract?

tricky.
There aren't as many bad contracts as there used to be.  And Knox not really much of a sweetener.
