Those 2 teams can D it up

TimeLord was ticking in the 1st qtr

Marcus went off in the 4th

in between Tatum carried them

and I think Doris is fine -she knows the game and does her homework and is better prepped than most game analysts

van Fred had a rough 4Q.
Raps offense was shaky 4Q in the face of heightened BOS D.
TOR missed a bunch of 6' paint shots early/mid 4Q.
I thought TOR got tight.

Smart was a hero.

Besides the 3's, I loved that strip of a driving Siakim with 40 secs left, which Smart very nearly saved to a teammate.

Burke is informed, but it's the Hubie Brown school of repetitive overannouncing and over-emphasis.   Otoh, Malika Andrews has done a good job with her coach interviews, getting actually useful or interesting answers.  Usually from other reporters the questions are so lame and more like statements and the coaches basically just say Yeah.

Smart is my favorite Celt, he's kind of an acquired taste, can make you a little nuts from time to time, as he throws up brick after brick, but then he gets hot. He makes so many smart plays, usually on D, and he always plays hard. I've likened him to a middle-linebacker calling out defensive signals. There's a lot of intangibles to his game, that doesn't show up on a stat sheet, but he's a winning player and he's a lot of fun to watch.

Between the two of them, Mitchell and Murray scored 475 points in this series, which is the most combined points by opposing players in a single series in NBA history, per ESPN Stats and Info, topping the 463 Jerry West and John Havlicek scored in the 1969 Finals.

For the series, Mitchell posted 36.2 points per game on 53-percent shooting, including 51.5 percent from deep and 95 percent from the line. Per StatMuse, he is the first player in history to post at least 35-50-50-90 in those categories for an entire playoff run, albeit a short one for Utah.

Murray, meanwhile, averaged 31.5 points for the series on 55-percent shooting, including 55 percent from deep and 92 percent from the line. He posted two 50-point games with a 42-pointer sandwiched between. The 142 points Murray scored in Games 4-6 is the third-highest total in three consecutive playoff games in NBA history, trailing only Jerry West in 1965 and Michael Jordan in 1988.

Both Mitchell and Murray 30+ Points on over 50/50/90 splits

(and I like how Jerry West's name comes up form two different playoff seasons)

Out of 53 NBA players who have tried at least 500 jumpers in the regular season and playoffs, Westbrook ranks last in efficiency, with an effective field goal percentage (eFG) of just 39.8%. How bad is that? Anthony Davis ranks 52nd at 44.7%.

in Game 6 on Monday ... With four minutes left, the Rockets led 98-92 and they seemed destined to advance to the next round. But  Paul hit a couple of huge 3s to tie the game

In those final four minutes on Monday, Harden touched the ball just four times and dribbled 11 times in Houston's final eight possessions.

Meanwhile, Russell Westbrook had 10 touches and 60 dribbles in that same span.

Both had a late turnover in a tied game, and missed a key shot.  Though Westbrook's straight-on airball was embarrassing, and his very late turnover sealed the L.  I'd much rather trust Harden late since his whole game/season is basically iso-hero-clutch time ball.

Ref-ball in the bubble.

A lotta ugly calls down the strech in the Heat-Bucks game.

Heat deserved the W, but it seemed they were playing 5 on 8

I thought it to be exceedingly well-officiated

Would have loved for the no call at the end, but that's sports.

Cool to see them not bail out Butler, up 4 with less than ten seconds left.  He was trapped, aggressively hounded - many times officials almost automatically whistle the foul.  No call, he throws it away and Bropez in for the easy two.
