So for his 2nd full season as top exec, Ainge drafted Tony Allen.
After 6 years of service and often missing games, Ainge let Allen leave as a FA.  Same Summer,  Ainge drafted A Very Bradley (#19 pick) as his replacement.
After 7 years, Ainge traded A Very for Marcus Morris, since he drafted Marcus Smart 3 years before, and Smart was stronger, younger and cheaper.

You think Ainge might have an SG type he favors?

Knix tried for some late round defensive PG's in Toney Douglas and Mardy Collins.
And now there's Franc.
When was the last time the Knix had a defensive SG?
i guess Shump is the answer.

When was the last time the Knix had a 2-way Guard?
Clyde?

Leanng MIAMI over LAL.  Just something about this team.

I hate saying this, but LAL wins this.

Just checking on NYK SG's and notice that Landry Field Goal was named Assistant General Manager of the Atlanta Hawks, just a few days ago on September 24, 2020. Previously worked as the General Manager of the Austin Spurs of the NBA G League.

LFG really had a strong rook season, shooting 50% and 39% on 3's and boarding quite well.  Was a good cutter too.  His sophomore year was a bit less of everything (with his FT% weirdly dropping from 77% to 56%).  Redeeming himself some with a solid playoff run.  And that was his last hurrah.  TOR nabbed him as FA and he fell apart there, mostly elbow injuries and then a hip thing that ended his NBA time.  Weird career, as a solid rook year turned out to be the high point.

Fuck the Orlando Lakers!

I only hope the Lakers tradition of stealing the NBA's biggest stars and failing to win a title in the first year of that theft continues.

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban picked up Delonte West at a Dallas gas station on Monday and is attempting to help the homeless former NBA player get his life back on track, Cuban confirmed to ESPN.

Sources close to West told TMZ that his family and friends have been trying to get West to go to a drug rehabilitation facility and that Cuban has offered to pay for his treatment.

Cuban is among several people involved in the NBA who have been attempting to help West, who publicly discussed his diagnosis of bipolar disorder during his NBA career, in recent years. Cuban renewed those efforts after pictures circulated last week of West panhandling at an intersection in Dallas.

Might come down to who can pop their 3's.
If Duncan Donuts and Ty Hero and others can their 3's or go cold, get defended.
Lakes will try to bottle those guys up and let Crowder and Dragic make 3's instead.
While MIA is going to pack the paint against LeBJ and AD and we'll see if Rondo, Pope, Caruso, Morris, Kuz can make 3's.

LBJ and AD are a stronger tandem than Bam-Butler, so you need Dragic to outplay Rondo.  And Dragic is really key to MIA flowing on O.
So we'll likely see some LBJ on him at times.  Likely just late in games.

Hopefully we'll see some Meyers Leonard to bang with Dwight and secure some boards.
He's also a capable 3-point shooter.  I think i'm higher on My Leonard than most ...

The Sixers were ready to decide between Mike D'Antoni and Ty Lue until Rivers became available.

A lot of good coaches were/are available this offseason.
CHI already snatched up Donovan.  Knix nabbed Thibs.

Straying with MIAMI.

I think if the play with the same discipline and defensive intensity they played against the Celts they can win.

Heat must have used all their D in the ECF, because so far they've not shown any.

If Butler's hurt they're kind of screwed.

If Heat all dinged up, they have no chance.  Dragic might be out, Bam has a bad shoulder,
Butler an ankle.

I'd just guard AD 1-on-1.  Crowder is stout.  Bam tough and mobile.  Butler feisty.  Iggy too.
Mostly AD just wants to shoot a J from 18 feet.  Keep him outside and try not to foul him.
Can live with him shooting midrangers over guys.
Just don't leave all their 3-point shooters open.

Hope this isn't one of those years where the Finals are just a dud.
Playoffs were pretty stellar ... so far.

Kyrie is a headache:

Quote
The Brooklyn Nets named Steve Nash their head coach in early September, but stars Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant see Nash in more of a collaborative role and not as the head of top-down leadership.

"I don't really see us having a head coach," Irving said on Durant's new podcast, "The Etcs." "KD could be a head coach, I could be a head coach [some days]."

Durant followed up by agreeing with Irving, calling it a "collaborative effort" and naming assistant and former interim head coach Jacque Vaughn as someone who could fill the role any given day.

&

Quote
"One thing I've always been comfortable with, I felt like I was the best option on every team I played for down the stretch," Irving said. "This is the first time in my career I've looked down and be like, 'That motherf---er can make that shot too.' And he'll probably do it a lot easier.

Doc Rivers was not idle for very long!

Best of luck to him and the 76ers.
