Sorry, it was a question I asked a week or more back and resuscitated.
So I wanted to get it out of the way.  Start the new year fresh ...

Kobe seemed the obvious choice, but 35.4 is Jordanesque.
I was a bit surprised on 21 year old LeBJ.
That's when he was still deciding his identity as a scorer, passer, all-around stud.
Also, LBJ scored over 30 with weak outside shooting (just 33% on 3's).  But he was unstoppable in transition and on drives.

Arenas had one more healthy season in him, finishing 3rd in scoring at 28.5 the next season.

Odd that the Top 3 scorers in '06 were so high and all career highs.  Wonder if there were any rule changes or expansion teams to help explain that.

I looked at kiid's answer quickly and thought it meant '06 was pre-Bron.  Now I see you meant Wade, pre-Bron.  Wade won the scoring title 3 years later in '09, just a hair over 30 (30.20 ppg).

Here's the year by year Top 10 in scoring:

Quite a high FT rate per game in '05 and '06 but aside from that I am also interested.  Good research topic.

They went down, but the 3's LaMelo made were of the unlikely variety.

Like what PHX has done.
Booker surrounded by 4 defenders: CP3, Bridges, Crowder, Ayton.
And three of them can hit 3's.
A quartet of 2-way players bookending Booker.
Good mix of vets and yute.

Not too sure about their bench, but the Cams can play.  And Saric is solid.
Jevon Carter is game.
Not sure they have defenders on the pine.
Guess Bridges or Crowder have to be part of the 2nd unit for now.

Btw, Bridges progressing nicely:
Rook: 43% / 33.5% / 80%
Soph: 51% / 36% /  84.4%
3rd:  has upped all those in the early going, with 45% on 3's so far.

Terrific long-armed defender who can cover 1-4, gets steals and disrupts.

Gotta love those Nova guys.

As for Ball, he’s still a turnstile. However, anyone who’s gonna help Dallas take a loss this year has my explicit blessing.

Rockets could be sooooo good.

No doubt - nice call on M Bridges - Nova.

Today's quiz

26 players have scored 25000 points in the NBA

Who are the 4 who seem poised to be 27-30?  (James and Anthony are the active players already there)

Thst he never coached the Knicks was a shame

That Boston never allowed his game to blossom - same.

Heck of a life in basketball.

After a horrendous 2-30 start, Uber made 4-6 3's in a GSW blowout.
Gotta feel good to finally see the ball go in.

Brogdon with 21 / 11 assists / 7 boards and the game winner in OT (after Sabonis and MyTurn both had fouled out).  Played 46 mins.

That was a sick loss for NO, as evidently they were up 6 in last minute of regulation.  Turner drained a 3 to tie it.

What got me was they had Bledsoe on Brogdon for that last possession rather than Ball.

I think Lonzo went for 18-6-6.  Developing nicely and will likely get major bucks to stay where he is.
