Not the game we all anticipated.

Not a nail-biter.

Not a Milwaukee win.

How will the C's fair against Miami? It remains to be seen.

But this afternoon, when Tatum had to leave the game with 4 fouls, the Celtics floored it. Instead of seeing the game tighten, we saw them build the lead.

It was a great series, even if this last game the Bucks just plain ran out of gas. The "Greek Freak" had an amazing series and will be a pain in the ass to deal with for years to come, I expect.

But except for Horford, everybody on the Celtics is 30 or below. Brown is 2 years younger than Giannis, Tatum is 3 years younger. Hill, Matthews, Holiday, and Middleton are all older than everybody but Horford.

So... Milwaukee will be trouble for a while, but they will need to reload sooner, I expect.

Celtics vs Warriors would be awesome.

I am picking Miami and Dallas.

Enjoy.  Best playoff sport of them all.

3rd quarter in Boston-Miami resembles the 2nd inning of Astros vs. Red Sox.

Wow!

It was not a tight, competitive game, except for the 3rd quarter. Obviously, one game does not predict a series. We have good reason to hope for better games.

But the Celtics now have "home court advantage," for what that's worth. And for the Heat, no longer perfect at home.

I think Final4 is an OK finish forthis Celts team

Not expected to win

Bring em all back, with a late pick that may hit.  And maybe a vet low $$ signing or 2.

Can you go all the way depending on Smart at the point?  That is the key question.

I don't know all of what I was expecting, but a 18-1 start to the game was not it, regardless.

I don't know all of what I was expecting, but a 18-1 start to the game was not it, regardless.

The entire starting five for the Heat scored 18 points.

EIGHTEEN points.

You have to know that is not going to happen again next game or the one after it.

But we have yet to have a game more competitive than game 3 and game 3 was hardly what I consider competitive, even if the Celts made a game of it down the stretch (until too many Tatum miscues killed it).

Can we get a solid game from both teams even once? (And do I really want that?)

And who is even playing tomorrow night?

Will Robert Williams be able to go again, which he wasn't in game 3?

Will Marcus Smart be back?

What about Jimmy Butler? He missed half of game 3 and was barely present in game 4.

Herro was a no show last night, but promised he would be back for game 5.

Sure, but why?

It wasn't just C's defense, for all that I wish I could claim otherwise. The Celtics shot below 40% last night! Nor was their 3-point shooting worth celebrating.

Did they put up the smaller hoops?

Flashback

BOSTON  These teams, if not these precise players, have been through this before. Ten years ago, in the 2012 Eastern Conference finals, the Celtics came home from Miami with a 3 to 2 lead and a chance to close out the series in Game 6.

Then LeBron James happened. The Heat forward turned in an all time timely performance of 45 points, 15 rebounds and five assists, outscoring Boston s Big Three of Kevin Garnett  12 , Ray Allen  10 and Paul Pierce  9 by himself.

Two nights later, James scored 31 to end Boston s hopes of reaching the NBA Finals for the third time in five years. Instead, it was Miami going for a second consecutive year, en route to the first championship of its own Big Three  of James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh .

Six years later, circumstances were similar except for James uniform and the locations. He was back with Cleveland when Boston reached Game 6 of the 2018 East finals with another 3 to 2 lead. He puts up 46 on the Cavs court, then goes to TD Garden and eliminates the Celtics with 35 points, 15 boards and nine assists.

Yup.

Was just reading the same issue by a different writer, asking if Jimmy Butler has it in him to be LeBron James for the remainder of this series and season.

I'm pretty sure that LeBron was less hurting then than Butler is now, plus his supporting cast was stronger and healthier than Butler's is.

Doesn't mean it can't happen tonight or both Games 6 and 7, or all of the Finals.

But it feels far less likely.
